I have an old corolla which will make it ok...looking for someone to come with me to share petrol and accommodation. Desperately poor so can only do this with help.

The plan is to drive to Holbrook ...... leave about lunchtime Friday and stay overnight on Friday. Then 3 hours to Canberra Sat morning. Drive back to Holbrook accommodation Sat night.......back to Melb Sunday morning arrive sun arvo.
Petrol about $150 total and accommodation around $90-100 for a two single beds times two nights. So the travel/accom could be done for About $175 each.
Prefer stunningly attractive young blond female companion, however will accept old ugly bastard like myself....or any other Demon mad human being. I've got an old corolla but it'll make it. Would be happy to go in your late model Ferrari or similar.

Any other hair brained scheme to get there considered.

I believe Bitter But Optimistic is driving up from Romsey, you could try him. That said, you might feel more comfortable travelling up with Ivan Milat.

I think Ivan might be otherwise committed. It'll have to be BBO ... scary.

Send pm to Bitter But Optimistic. He can be described as looking like both of the travelling companions you mentioned and is going to Camberra.

good idea. you could even try your luck with his squeeze when he inevitably passes out

assumes old corolla could make it to romsey, but leaving it there overnight would be risky

Ok thanks for that ...sent him a message. Does BBO's really look like that? Poor thing. I might be able to help with some diet and a quiet word about haircare.

classic. nice to have a laugh this morning. has anyone actually seen BBO? i have always been intrigued by his photo and posts. almost worth taking the risk and giving him a lift to find out after making sure he is in the backseat with seat belt firmly on to ensure he or she cannot get aroused on the journey.

Therein lies the problem, H. It sounds good in theory, but BBO gets to a whole new level of "aroused" when you tie him up, buckle him up, strap him in or strap one on...

Gee I can see the headlines already."Crazed gunman kills GWS...innocent road trip goes awry."

Story Ron Barassi as told to Barrie Bretland and translated into English by Haroun Al Rasheed.

He's changed quite a bit since that avatar pic Special Robert. His tounge piercing has a chain hanging from it linked to a bullring nose ring and he has those weird coral growth horn implants under his thinning forehead (committed Demon). Oh, and he always carries at least 2 full bottles of Heathcote shiraz at any one time plus will undoubtedly correct the spelling in the pm you sent him.

Good luck mate!

Well well. Once again I'm happy to allow Dland's comic genii to make their particularly unfunny remarks at my expense.

Unfortunately I am unable to help "special" out (and it's nothing to do with my rule about poor people and the Merc). Rather I already have two freeloading friends of the squeeze joining me for the roadtrip.

Bad luck for them. All the excitement is activating my old flatulence issue and that persistent fungal problem appears to have reinvented itself.

Could potentially have a spare seat in Piper Comanche, passenger gone down with man flu and if he doesnt get up I will have to introduce someone from the bench to fill the vacancy. Looking like he could be out for 426.

Sorry to detour from the themes of general deviancy, but how good is it to be contemplating crazy road trips to watch Melbourne again? I google mapped how long it would take to drive from my place to the arena before deciding that 14.5 hours driving in a day for a football game would not be on the cards. Still, I'm enjoying the optimism. I'll be disappointed if the crowd volume doesn't favour Melbourne on Saturday.

Correct plus certain other "gear" to ensure exciting night after activities in Cantberra.

BTW Biffen has organised accommodation for me in a place called Fyshwick . He assures me it is a very salubrious area.

It'll certainly be a step or two up on what you're accustomed to BBO.

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress. SLIP SLIDING AWAY by Meggs

It was a sweaty, slippery night at Cazalys Stadium, a tough slog with low scoring and missed opportunities.  The Hokball Hawks hung on to win by a goal and sit second on the ladder, relegating the disappointed Demons to, almost certainly, finals spectators.   We had to win this match. When news broke of late withdrawals of talisman Kate Hore and key back Gaby Colvin, expectations plummeted, and Demon fans despaired.  The bad news was the signature song of 2024, a season that’s
