Tom McDonald built on a good Nab Challenge and was amazing today.

Col Garland built on a terrible Nab Challenge and was amazing today.

AFL match centre suggests Garland came off injured at the end. nothing to worry about?

The physios didnt even bother touching him. I'm sure he'll be fine.

There are so many highlights from today. But the main thing is WE WON ROUND 1. 10 years I've waited for this.

Posted

Pleasing thing was how hard we were, especially early. Wanted more and exposed a few Gold Coa$t softies.

Also took the game on 95 percent of the time.

Posted

I had the best day - hardly any voice left but it was bloody brilliant. So happy ❤️

Posted

And not even the best player I have ever seen can come back through us anymore.

If you're underdone, and if you're sore, you better not risk it against the Demons. They will put Viney or Brayshaw on you early and eff you up.

Probably our best win since beating Essendon on a Friday night way back in 2011.

Sure, we had some exciting victories under Roos last year, but they were close games and we won in part to opposition inaccuracy, choking etc.

Today we were the better side from the opening minute.

Tyson's goal in the second quarter is the best passage of play I've seen since Salem's winner against Essendon last year. In fact, in isolation it was better. What an absolute treat to watch.

One last thing, there were 27,000 there today (a good number in itself) - but the noise felt closer to 60,000 when Lumumba kicked that goal. The Melbourne faithful are as loud as anyone.

Posted

Not sure if it showed up as well live at the ground but Watts' tap from the goal line back to Jeffie G was bloody amazing clear thinking.

Posted

One of my mates saw Mitch Clark there today.

After seeing Lumumba, and Hogan, it's a case of Mitch who?

Good on him for supporting his mates though.

Posts on this Post Match topic seem a little slow compared to usual.

Either we are all completely shell shocked or everyone is still at the MCG singing the song.

Definitely deliberate. It was brilliant.

The Melbourne faithful are faithful.

I want to talk everyone up, Lumumba hogan Tyson Viney Brayshaw Vandenberg Garlett garland McDonald great effort boys

They had more composure and better disposal skill than I have seen for a long time. Garlett and lumumba add leg speed and class. First gamers Newton and Brayshaw showed composure and looked like they belong. Hogan is only going to get better. Having said that GC was poor defensively. But a great feeling at the end of the match.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. I apologize for skipping our annual season review show at the end of last season. After a disapponting season filled with off-field antics and a heated trade week, I needed a break. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
