I have no issues with Frawley, he gave us some good service over the years. Clark can GAGF though, soft as butter mebelieve ally and I hope his foot gets shattered into powder.

A mate of mine at the dees match said Clark was there and very vocal for the dees. Apparently jumped off his chair when Jonesy slotted through that goal.

I doubted it but have no reason no to believe him

His support on-field would have been more handy. Excuse me for not giving one [censored]

I cant hate Chip, he gave us years of very good footy including a rare MFC AA guernsey . I do think he will regret not staying at the club though and seeing success with his mates though.

And after seeing what Lumumba has brought to the MFC i am now leaning to saying thanks Mitch

He didn't give us years of very good footy at all - that is a myth. A reasonable footballer, yeah.

In his last 3 years, he was, at best, quite a good 'stopper'. He regressed from his all-Australian year and failed to show the required leadership that we needed.

His last 3 B&F finishes were 9th, 7th & 8th (in arguably, one of the worst performed teams of all time) And the match committee are more prone to recognise backman too - far more so in my eyes.

Granted, he had plenty of mates (nearly the whole list)

That doesn't mean he won't get back to his dashing best at Hawthorn (his dashing best was his all-Australian year)

Too many make excuses for Frawley yet won't make the same excuses for other players (he was "under siege" in the backline and all that - defending doesn't just happen in the last line of defence, it happens all over the ground) All our players could have been dubbed "under siege" - from 2012-2014).

Besides North getting PUMPED, the non-MFC highlight for me was Hird getting booed by the Swans fans when he went down to the bench in the last 5 minutes of the game. I hope this happens every week.

Leadership and Frawley in the same sentence does not compute.

Leadership and Frawley in the same sentence does not compute.

As I said previously, I'm not unhappy about Frawley leaving regardless of how well he might play elsewhere.

If a player doesn't want to play for our club, do the best deal possible.

And one of Roos' great strengths is trading and dealing - he's quite good at that (as we're finding out) ^_^

Early note on Hawks vs Cats. Clark looks like he's lost some of that defensive intensity he had with us. Can still take a mark though.

And with that he just dropped a sitter directly in front.

Posted

Clark just dropped a chest mark on the lead.

Posted

Not sure I'd go that far. He got the crumbs from a shocking kick. Clark just scored because Frawley hadn't followed him back into the 50.

Clark can't mark and Frawley (though I don't mind him) can't spoil.

Will be found out this season.

Neither side looks very good today, mistakes leading to goals. Promising for the rest of us.

I'm not sure what to feel watching this. Frawley playing on Clark is just plain nutty.

Forgot Jared Rivers still plays for the Cats. This gets more bizarre by the second.

If I hear the words "Mitch Clark" and "courageous" in the same sentence again I will spew.

yeah i didn't really like the "it was courageous of him to spend some time away from the game". Would have been more courageous for him to come back to the club that showed him so much support

Posted

Does everyone know something I don't? Clark is being praised for [censored] us over and a couple months later going to a successful team

Courageous? I'm going to punch the TV in a second

Posted

TV off, kettle on, chocolates out.

Got it on the radio and doing some work now, but I just can't look at him.

He's eveyr bit as good as he was at Melbourne.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
