Garlett passed the ball to Dawes instead of taking the shot. Would love to see MMs reaction at that

Frankly I wouldn't give a rat's about MM's reaction to anything, but I would love to hear KB's reaction to that!

Commentators need a jizzlobber after Bonce and Pelli just kicked a goal...

if thats our best i give up 60 yrs saw the best now seen the worst

Reckon watts effort has been alright, he looks a lot bigger too.

Ordinary Q by the boys then, but a few of those set shots go through and it might've been a bit different. Looks to be a doozy of a breeze.

Disappointing drop in intensity that quarter. It's been a long time since an MFC team has really stuck the boot in when on top.

Has Watts had a touch?

Has had a couple of shots from long range into the wind...

He looks a lot bigger in the legs than I remember?

I think he will enjoy this season more than his previous years...

I'm excited!

Same old stupid mistakes started creeping back in

To be fair, we were raped by the umpires that quarter.

Just because we are well up, that doesn't mean the umps should put away the whistle.

it was a terrible display by them. We are going well.

Not wrong, I hear that the conditions are difficult but there are certain times where skills are only a secondary concern. Some poor decision making in the backline.

Only saw second half of that quarter though so not sure how the rest has gone!

What?

Heaps of positives so far, just need to finish off strong.

Dogs were always going to kick a few with that breeze. It's worth at least 4 goals. Watts x2 and Viney missed gettable shots on a normal day to that end.

another long year I'm tipping too many mistakes and stuff around with it, should be 100 up I will be very surprised if we drag ourselves from bottom 4

Grimes should never try to hug the boundary with a left foot kick. I reckon he has tried it about 100 times in his career and 99 have gone out on the full. Another one that quarter!

Disappointing quarter but against the wind, not so bad.

we are terrible against a 2s side

I reckon we should be looking for hogan a bit more, would love to see more fast link ups through the midfield followed by a big kick to Hogan with Garlett crumbling.

Too much slow movement for my liking out on the flanks.

Go up the middle and go long to Hogan.

Honestly if that's all you've taken from today's game I suggest you give up on footy.

I think I see the makings of a new business here...I'm thinking of setting up a sweatshop making sow's ears from silk purses... any takers?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
