I recall reading something about this some time ago but I just stumbled upon this article in "The Rip", the Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale magazine. Love your commitment Isaac!

Also good on the club for sending him the jumper!

That's the trouble with thumbnails, bit hard to read at that scale and a blurr when you enlarge it. Can you paraphrase the article?

Just shows what a thoughtless [censored] Frawley is. Could have at least acknowledged the kid's letter. FMD.

But good work from the club in the way they handled the matter.

And his $15 back! This kid will be a Demon for life!

You are assuming the 'janitor found it' part is true...

Can't we be adults?

What a F log

No doubt the kid has a future and will get drafted by another club and become a future superstar.....sigh! I wonder if the money was still in the envelope or just the letter? The article is not clear on that point.

Nice article but the kid is a way too generous, level headed and forgiving for my liking.

Can anyone see where he hopes Hogan runs through Chip at the opening bounce of the Hawks match? No snide quips about loyal country lads?

Honestly the kid just seems happy just to move on. What sort of attitude is that? Someone needs to get his email address and send him the last 100 bitter and twisted pages of the Scully thread. That'll sort him out

Can't believe Frawley didn't respond. Pathetic effort especially from a member of the leadership group. Good riddance.

What would he say? Keep your money jacka$$, I'm off to Hawthorn?

A suitable response would be easy to come up with if he had half a brain.

How about:

Thanks mate for your great support. I really appreciate what the club means to you. Hopefully there are good times ahead for the Dees.

Best Wishes Chip

What a F log

Gee, that's a bit rough DD36!... looking at him I'd say he's only about 12 years old.

club should of given his $15 back and given him either a small membership or free game day tickets as well.

like we needed any further proof that James Frawley is a brainless selfish bogan that runs from a challenge

Isaac is mature enough to understand that the club is bigger than any one player. Great attitude mate.

Take note posters on 'land who claim that "if player X leaves, I'm outta here!"

Did you read the article?

Didnt a kid send watts some money not to leave last year and he returned the money and a bit of interest on it and met the kid. Look im not having a crack at frawley but if someone takes the time to write you a letter at least have the respect to open it.

Settle down mate, chipper is a professional footyballer and has'nt nor should'nt have the time to answer every silly little request sent in by some non descript pimply face schoolkid thats never played a game of AFL in his life.

Get a grip and give these blokes the space they need.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
