"But in a late surprise, it is believed the Dees are considering overlooking Petracca in favour of 203cm forward Peter Wright.

Melbourne is expected to decide on Thursday morning on whether it needs another tall goalkicker to partner Jesse Hogan instead of Petracca’s X-factor."

Paul Roos has all but confirmed Melbourne will select Christian Petracca with one of its two top three picks in Thursday's national draft.

There was talk the tough Eastern Ranges midfielder could slip as low as pick 5 for Collingwood to swoop.

But Roos poured cold water on that theory.

While refusing to declare the Demons' hand, he barely hid it.

“I can tell you that Christian Petracca will not be playing for Collingwood,” he said on Sports Today.

As if we would leave a decision like that to the last minute.

Almost tempted to pay homage to Rangey and institute a poll but a simple question will probably suffice.

If hypothetically  we grabbed Brayshaw and Petracca, who would actually be upset ??

I wouldnt...seems a good get. Something to work with ^_^

I find that hilarious actually.

Too funny.

As if!

On the footage I've seen, Peter Wright is a gentle giant. Like others above, I can't believe that we would pass up on a quality mid for another "nice" young man.

If available it must be Brayshaw and Petracca.

Are you positing that his eyes close at the same time?

Or

To, Too, Two

Whats the difference between to, too, and two? Its not too difficult to use them, once you take the time to learn what they mean and do some practicing, too.

To

To has two functions. First, as a preposition, in which case it always precedes a noun.

Secondly, to indicates an infinitive when it precedes a verb.

Im going to the store

He went to Italy

This belongs to David

I need to study

We want to help

Hes going to eat

Too

Too also has two uses. First, as a synonym for "also":

Secondly, too means excessively when it precedes an adjective or adverb.

Can I go too?

He went to France too

I think thats Pauls book too

Im too tired

Hes walking too quickly

I ate too much

Two

Two is a number.

One, two, three

I have two cars

She ate two pieces of pie

Edit:- I had to fix the errors in the eLearn English paste !!!

Sorry Sir, it shan't happen again!

That could equally mean he thinks the saints are going to pick him.

Or that he wouldn't get past GWS at 4 and therefore not get to Pies pick at 5.

Roos has as good as confirmed on the radio this evening that we will be drafting Brayshaw and Petracca tomorrow. He made this claim on the basis that the interviewers were adamant that McCartin would be picked by St. Kilda. A decent midfield at last? Now all we need is to focus on another tall that might slip through to pick 40!

We all know roos' dislike for drafting talls or KPP with

early picks, no way it will be wright with pick 2 or 3

Petracca and Brayshaw is a HUGE win for the MFC!!!

Both capable of playing majority of games next year with impact.

Additions to team in 2015: Hogan, Lumumba, Gartlett, Petracca, Brayshaw, Frost.

Quality, X-factor, scoring capacity, run, skill, and aggression.

Emma Quayle has just released her first round predictions and has McCartin going to the Saints at number 1.

She has Dees picking Brayshaw at 2 and Petracca at 3.

She is usually spot on so close to the draft.

Most of the scribes are pretty spiot on close to draft time about what order they will be selected. None of the scribes are ever right when you compare the draft order they nominated as opposed to the output of the players.

I am assuming both Brayshaw and Petracca are nice upstanding Grammar School boys!

My erection is slowly rising.. For it to be accomplished I need to hear Brayshaw and Petracca read out by Jason Taylor.

I understand that Roos "says" that he only consults on drafting and let's the decisions be made by the recruiting staff however.....

Roos is on record as saying ( and I paraphrase) " draft for mids, trade for talls". It would therefore be hard to see us bypassing petracca and Bradshaw if McCartin goes number one.

Different strokes for different folks DD...

I wonder how many Dlanders are prepared to wait for the benefit of say the possible pickups in Brayshaw and Petracca ?

I want to see us bring them up to speed before loosing them on the field. I want o more 'kids to the rescue" type team selections.

Certainly an unbelievable result for MFC. Go you good things!

I'd keep that under wraps DD

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
