Has good defensive pressure I'll give him that and knows where the sticks are but just about fell off my chair when that heading went up. :o

Club must know something ( hopefully ) :)

Blease for Garlett? Weren't Carlton the ones that were interested in Blease?

rings a bell.

good for both teams I guess , but only really care about us. Would give Blease a new crack at it I suppose..

Rapt at this. Has kicked 39+ goals in three seasons (48 one year). Can't say that for anyone else on our list. Nobody even comes close

There's no point in having crumbers in your forward line if there are no big blokes there to contest. Perhaps we'll actually play Dawes (and hopefully Hogan) forward of centre next year, instead of letting him run around like a headless chook.

Garlett would be okay if he costs us nothing, but I certainly wouldn't be giving up anything of value for him.

Dawes has struggled without having a crumbing forward around him. It makes his 10 dropped marks per game look worse. At least with a crumber he can attempt to palm the ball down a bit more.

The other problem with Garlett is how damn soft he is. He makes Watts look courageous. I don't know how we toughen him up.

So...like Yze?

Not ideal. But sounds like blokes being blokes. Or idiots being idiots.

Guess if we are taking him it's about giving him a fresh start and forgiving whatever has happened before.

Apparently big personal troubles, I hope we've done due diligence.

If they are sorted then he could be worth something.

Really it's just a throw at the stumps that should cost nothing.

Correct. Before everone gets too excited you might want to have a think about why he spent all last season playing for the Bullants???

Was dropped last year to find some form and instead of working to get back he sulked and was a bit part player... Definitely wouldn't give up much, but if this is the wake up call he needs then there is a lot of upside!!

Roos v Malthouse is a big factor here!

I kept my head mostly in the MFC sand this year - why did he?

Whatever it was didn't affect him for the previous three seasons, where he barely missed a game.

yeah, i'd take him (if he comes relatively cheap). we need some x-factor crumbing in the fwd line

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
