Haha as if. Get your hand off it.

I read a lot of your facebook crud. You know i am right.

I know you're a sook, that's for sure.

So you want to trade pick 2 for one of Hawthorn's worst 5 players?

Great strategy..... FMD.

Great misinterpretation of the entire point of my post.

I'm starting to fantasise that we will go to the draft and picks 2 and 3 will produce the most exciting superstars seen for a decade. That will keep me deluded for at least another six months at least.

It's expecting miracles to find players worth trading picks 2/3/23 for, to improve on current MFC "stars" like M. Jones, Terlich, Bail, McKenzie...?

The worst 5 players at Hawthorn would be a good place to start.

Nothing ever happens midweek. I am still expecting Roosy to play a killer Poker hand before Friday afternoon. !!

Hope he does it before Thursday afternoon.

When's round 1? That should bring you back to earth. ;)

And the crux of your argument is it would take a "miracle" to trade pick 2 or 3 for a midfielder that serves these 3 criteria:

1. is better than the worst midfielders on our list

2. is better/more developed than the 18 year olds at the top of this year's draft

3. fits Roos' mould. Big tackler/gut runner/defensive game, etc.

...in a league filled with nearly 800 players.

You don't trade pick 2 or 3 simply for someone better than our worst midfielders.

I never said it would take a miracle, I said you're expecting a miracle. We're dangling pick 2 and 3 but nothing of worth has come up. Nothing we can do about that, and now you want to trade pick 2 or 3 simply for someone better than Terlich or Bail? No idea mate.

Today's dramatic developments from Trade Radio

Tom Boyd

GWS forward Boyd will walk out of the club regardless of whether or not he is traded to the Western Bulldogs this year. His manager Liam Pickering confirming that if he doesn't leave this year, he will walk when his contract expires at the end of 2015. GWS says they welcome Pickering's comments that Boyd will honour his contract with the club in 2015. They have again confirmed they will not trade him under any circumstances this year.

Dayne Beams … zzzz

It is now only a matter of time before the deal to get Beams to the Brisbane Lions is done. Collingwood president Eddie McGuire confirming the deal had been ticked off, with Brisbane Lions midfielder Jack Crisp being added to the package as a "sweetener" for the Pies.

Michael Voss

Voss has joined Port Adelaide as its midfield manager filling the role vacated by Phil Walsh who departs to coach Adelaide.

Jonathan Giles

GWS ruckman Giles has nominated Essendon as his preferred new home. The Giants ruckman met with both the Bombers and the Crows this week, but decided the Bombers would be a better fit.

Jack Trengove

Former Melbourne captain Trengove will not be traded this season after he failed a medical examination yesterday. Trengove re-aggravated the navicular bone injury and the Tigers decided they would not pursue a trade for him.

Alright, here's a balanced look of the situation so far.

Melbourne: OUT - Clark, Frawley, Trengove.

IN - Garlett.

And what have Brisbane lost? They've gotten Beams for draft picks and a fringe player. They've done an excellent job this trade period.

Clark didn't play a game, Trengove was relegated to the VFL before being put on the LTI and Frawley was played at the opposite end of the ground for most of the season, to cover Hogan being out.

We gain Lumumba, who will improve our backline, and swap Byrnes for Garlett. Add in what we get for picks two and 3 and surely we replace one of M Jones or Riley with an a-grade mid.

Doesn't have to be superstars mate just some mildly competent footballers who can slot into our midfield. Someone like Lyons or Hallahan we should be targeting.

I don't see these guys bringing anything to the table, would rather take the kids in this years draft. Roos & Stone have had a keen eye for fringe players in the past, it's why Kennedy, McGlinn and Mumford ended up at Sydney. If we're not making a pitch for these guys it's because we don't think they are up to it.

Activity is not all it's cracked up to be, sometimes it's just running around in circles and getting nowhere. No point trading NQR's for other NQR's. Have some faith 'Gonzo'...

Lamumba is far from certain the way Colonwood are dragging out this trade. If Varcoe decides to stay with Geelong where does that leave the whole Clark situation with only one full day left to go?

Simple: we swap Mitch Clark straight to Collingwood for HL! They wouldn't be upset to have Mitch in their forward line with Cloke!

Mitch has to agree to a trade, and he would refuse that trade..

Maybe he wouldn't oppose it if they assured him that they planned to on-forward him to the Cats in exchange for Varcoe! Same three-way trade only happening in reverse order!

There are more people who work at MFC than Roosy.

In fact, did you know we even have people who have the job of "recruiting" players? Amazing hey!

1. Just confirming that Roosy is on holidays

2. Even if Roos didnt go I still reckon much wouldn't have happened

3. No need to be an [censored] about it. No wonder your a laughing stock and a pisstake on facebook.

Today's excitement should inlude:

Paddy Ryder zzz

Port Adelaide has upped its offer for Ryder as the deadline of the NAB Trade period approaches. The Power have said they're prepared to give up picks 17 and 37 for Ryder but the Bombers still want more.

Ryan Griffen and Tom Boyd

Both could be forced to stay at their respective clubs next season, despite both players requesting to be traded. The Giants are refusing to trade Boyd, despite his manager Liam Pickering saying he would leave at the end of his contract next season regardless.

We've heard it all before

Despite it being talked about for weeks, the Dayne Beams trade to Brisbane is expected to get done today. It will kick off a five-way trade that will see Brisbane receive Beams & pick 67 from the Magpies in exchange for picks 5, 25 and midfielder Jack Crisp. North Melbourne would then receive pick 25 from Collingwood in exchange for Levi Greenwood. As part of the deal, Heritier Lumumba will also move from the Magpies to Melbourne, Mitch Clark will move to Geelong, and Travis Varcoe will move to Collingwood.

Mitch Hallahan

Hallahan will decide over the next 24 hours whether he will stay a Hawk, or seek a trade to Gold Coast. The Herald Sun says the Gold Coast offered him a three-year deal, despite him originally stating he wanted to stay at Hawthorn.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
