I thought his speech was a thinly veiled FU to the CFC about values and them pushing him out when he is obviously talented (finishing 4th in their B&F).

I liked it, the Collingwood Football Club has gone from the club of the working people with community values, to a glorified corporate bogan devoid of values and ashamed of their roots.

Welcome Prince!

:)

Totally agree. And may we all have the last laugh with him, every year!

Actually, it wasn't a bad audition for our victory speech on QB 2015.

Again, the English language is not your strong point, is it?

A cursory glance in a dictionary would give you the metaphorical definition: self righteous, over sensitive, self absorbed etc. All adjectives which aptly describe Hertier Lumumba's behaviour on numerous occasions to date.

And he still can't win the one on ones.

so you want to keep these traits all to yourself & your mates. wasn't Heritier born correctly, to know his place in the DNA chain, PM? .... thats not you Uncle tony is it?

Not yours either. A dictionary doesn't give 'metaphorical definition(s)' it gives meanings ... unless of course you had in mind Giambattista Vico's idea that all language is metaphorical, which I somehow doubt.

But you're a fine one for accusations about understanding language since you don't even seem capable of recognising Adam's basic question about why meanings like 'self righteous, over sensitive, self absorbed' have been attached, metaphorically or otherwise, to the word princess and not to the word prince.

Yeah, I struggle with English. So where's Princess come into it? You seem to have glanced over that one again.

It is truly ironic that posters on Demonland who spit out damning opinions of Lumumba label him 'self righteous'.

Can the guy play footy? Will he improve our list? Does he fit Roosy's plan? Is the trade fair? The rest is bulls**t.

Roos wants him. That's good enough for me.

This.

Perhaps it is.

All of life is, after all, but a stage.

I can also remember a recent contributor to Q & A also stating that all terrorism is just theatre

Possibly, therefore, nothing really means what it means

Given that the (senior) Collingwood players have plenty of praise for HL, and that along with doing very well in the Copeland year after year, Harry also managed to pick up a "Best Clubman" award, I'll just put your concerns in the "no basis in fact" basket.

Nailed it, bing181.

so was Martin Luther King, Jr. & most others who have passion & fire in the belly to get justice & change for the better for all.

you have to have some bitters & twisties to turn your gut enough to fight for change.

If your saying we don't want passion & fight & change at the Dees, than join the exodus of so many before you who want the Status Quo & just go along. like 50 yrs now & still counting.

we need passion in the grandstands, in the board meetings, & in the rooms at training days or nights, & in our non social club.

we'll fight them on the beaches, we'll fight them at the cliffs, out on water, or at the 'G'... but fight them we WYL.

Martin Luther King and HL in the same thread...... Hhhhmmmmm

Martin Luther King bitter and/or twisted?? He was the champion for non violence protests and social action.

What a great way to welcome a player to the club that actually wants to come to us and make an impact and be a leader to help us out of the mire.

Pathetic.

Wont be going to that forum ever again

Heriter Lumumba is the Kanye West of AFL.

"Yo, Steele, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish, Pendlebury had one of the best seasons of all time! One of the best seasons of all time!"

In full support of your post I give fellow Demonlanders 10 minutes of the wonderful Tasmanian Bill Mollison.

"Fury drives me and fury continues to drive me!"

10 minutes really well spent if you have the time.

The club cant get him out the door quick enough. Why?

The best clubman award is like the fundraising queen at the local beauty pageant. Gotta give the ugly girls something hey?

And how does his standing in the best and fairest make him any less of a weirdo?? Irrelevant. I would be interested to hear what the players think after he leaves, as its far easier to speak the truth when the guy isn't there any more. I suspect there will be some popping corks.

For the record, I am happy at the thought of him running off half back, and delivering FORWARD, unlike our other half backs. I just hope the guy can keep his mouth shut, before he drives anyone mad.

Sign him up, and get him in the side.

you think I'm comparing the individuals ?

or the ways?

since when does biter & twisted mean outward aggression, &/or violence .. I think your taking Far too much liberty with this demonstrative.... many bitter & twisted people are submissive.

you may sit within touching distance of some, on matchdays? or even closer.

So us supporters are to blame for McKenzie's foot skills, Watts aptitude etc etc

you think 50 yrs of disposal skills have been the downfall of the MFC

I think a lack of passion, fire, & hardened culture is the reason.

& I think it has delivered us to where we are now, a place great players avoid. And great administrators, & we've lacked the vision & creative foresight's to make things happen, to which the people will follow & flock to.

these are my thoughts, no bollocks; demonsterative.

"If you are not a communist at 20 then you have no heart. If you are still a communist at 40, then you have no brains." (W. Churchill)

FFS he 27, which may not be young in AFL terms, but is still just youthful. He's learning, has a lot to learn and knows it. This guy is an individual with strong ethical values and the balls to speak up for what he believes in. Who didn't at that age? Those who base their views on his so-called self righteousness are missing the real point: he can play footy, and does so well.

If you honestly think he won't add to our list, you are delusional.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
