If Dangerfield comes I can see either Toumpas or Trengove leaving with pick 2 or 3.

If I had to choose I would prefer we kept Trengove.

Nice. You posted this at 1.06am today. By 'tomorrow', do you mean 'Sunday tomorrow' or 'Monday tomorrow?

Just checking if I need to sit on Demonland refreshing this page for 12 hours straight today. Thanks in advance.

He's in Perth, so it was before midnight when he posted there. Must be today then.

Make with the F5 hitting, pantaloons!

Hold that thought. Hearing Dangerfield is now very much in play, with likelihood somewhere near 90%.

More info tomorrow.

Love this.

For all the love for GNF, who has had good mail in the past, I also recall chook has had seriously good mail at times.

Not trying to denigrate GNF, but mail comes at its own pace, and isn't always absolute.

Still love reading this.

I haven't wanted to post in this topic as yet knowing that until now, it's been very much uphill for the Dees to get him over the line. But as a Dees supporter and also sharing a friendship circle with patty and knowing him personally, I can confirm he is very much open to moving from adelaide, tat the media releases he has done were pushed on him by senior crow officials trying to maintain stability. I can also confirm that if he leaves adelaide it will be to Melbourne. That is all I can say for now, I don't want to mention anything else before he decides 100%. But if I was to put a figure on it, I think pat is better than even money to make a change. The deal put to him will make him one of the top 3 paid players in the game, along with a leadership role. Obviously the crows and Dees need to agree on a trade and I have no idea what that might involve, however pat is genuinely open to crossing to the Dees this trade period.

Hypothetically, if Adelaide didn't have to accept a deal, and the decision was totally up to Danger, would he be a Demon next season?

I couldn't say, what I do know is he is frustrated with how adelaide have handled the senior players and now he has pretty much been forced to defend himself in the media and the board in which he is frustrated at. What I do know is Bernie Vince and Simon Goodwin have spoken at length to him and Aiden Riley has mentioned how good the relationship between the players and coaches are at melbourne. That's pretty much all I can say. From pats mouth on Friday was "sounds pretty good". My advice to him was to think about what the city has to offer in the way of live music and shopping. Like I said in my last post, I reckon it is better than even money. Maybe 65/35 for him coming to the Dees.

The 24-year-old said he had not spoken to any other AFL club and had no interest in leaving the Crows.

That isn't a quote, it's an inference from the author of the article. The actual quote says this, which is much less black and white (in fact I'd say it's particularly vague):

“I love the city, I love the Club and I love playing there,” Dangerfield said.

“And that’s all that needs to be said.”

And it's not being pedantic. The words people use are important. As soon as the author of an article (or forum post) leave out the actual quote, it goes from "out of the horse's mouth" to "hearsay".

And funnily enough, you haven't given us the radio quote either.

Whilst I'm loving all this news I'm still at a loss of why Danger would want to come to Melbourne.

Whether he wants to leave Adelaide or not, he's still 25, with a team at least in a premiership window with 2-3 years.
We're 5 years away from the likes.. I'd have him in a heartbeat, but I need convincing that even if Adelaide said yes how we would sell to a player to come to a team who finished lower on the ladder than GWS with a quarter of the potential talent on it's list.

Rubbish mr grammar fool. It's a quote incorporated into a statement. Just because it isn't in quotation marks does not make it any less a quote.

that's not true at all. Why do you think writers use quotation marks if not to make clear that this what the interviwee has said.

The blank cheque we have allegedly handed him would be a good starting point.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
