Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

My clear read on it is that he's staying. And I'm normally wrong.

Perhaps the most honest piece of sports journalism I have ever read in my life.

Take a bow RTG,

You are a gem here!

Just watched Dangerfield on the AFL footy show.

He is clearly llivid by Sanderson's sacking but spoke very firmly about staying united at the Crows.

By the way he spoke and the way he spoke about his love for Adelaide I don't think we'll be able to draw him over this year.

I hope I'm wrong but I am certainly not getting excited about it any more.

I don't think Dangerfield is lived that Sanderson has been sacked.

I think he is lived that the players have copped the blame.

To be fair, it holds just as much weight as "a poster on Demonland reckons..."

The same weight as the free red and blue fairy floss at family day?

No wonder Goodwin didn't want to go into that mess. Looks like Sanderson was white anted. It's going to take some doing to reunite that lot. Wonder what Riccuitos agenda is?

Drag the club to the dirt and let his cousins buy it cheap.

Just don't understand how you could be happy with the direction of a club that doesn't even have a coach.

Do the players think they'll be choosing the direction or something? Smells like a recipe for disaster.

If they're that arrogant, well.. good luck to them. Certainly means the incoming coach is fighting an uphill battle just to win over the players.

If he wanted to stay he would've come outright and said that. I didn't see the interview but the lines about loving the club and loving the players, etc... well, you only need to refer to our very own snake Mitch Clark and those comments last week about how much he loved Melbourne and loved our club, while he was already in negotiations with Buckley and Hird.

Also Frawley and the "bleeds red and blue" comments. They're just hollow and empty words. There's no loyalty in modern football.

Power and Crows hate each other more than any 2 other clubs in the country. They enjoy seeing each others team lose as much as they enjoy their own team winning.

If Tex (who is a crows favorite) went to Port they would burn his house down!!

well then, if he is entertaining a shift, maybe we orta con-vince Big Texas in a move, 1hrs flight East by Sth-East

Would be equally happy with Tex.

I'd almost prefer Tex

as long as we can get Shiel, Jaksch, 1 of Brayshaw/Petracca, & RO'K

Sloane would also be nice (if we can turn his family around from being Prendergasted)

maybe next year?

Watch the interview, then judge.

It was the strongest stance I have seen from a player in the long time.

Dangerfield is 110% not going anywhere.

It could work out OK if the Dangerfield thing falls through. Pick 2 & 3 in the draft could snare Petracca and Brayshaw or allow us to target Cameron. Plenty of other fish in the sea.

As for Goodwin - Meh.

we have enormous opportunities this year, IF we get a compensation pick immediately after our 1st pick. this is key... & a PP pick is needed as well.

one way or another we will get some very good players on-board this off season.

existing stars, or if not we can take 2 very good kids if we want to with our early picks.

[censored] Danger.

I wish the AFL had the trust that we could this time around build a dynasty on our own. Trust that we have the right recruiters, development coaches and players to provide the perfect environment for young players to thrive. Of course I completely get that we've had ample opportunity in previous drafts/years and we've got it so horribly wrong. But I don't care to wait now. I don't want to offer the world for a bonafide star of the comp who was brought to life by another club.

I want us to do it ourselves for once.

I want us to be ruthless in our objective to draft the best two mids of this year in Petracca and Brayshaw, (insert any other player out recruiters believe have star qualities) And inject maybe a ROK, Malceski and Lumumba to add to Cross, Vince and Dawes who were not stars of the comp but who tick the box as teachers and players who will actually nurture and mentor young players unlike Sylvia, Moloney and Frawley in recent times.

I understand there's an argument that the MFC can't be afforded anymore time to 'rebuild' and need immediate improvement. But there is risk in everything. Every trade. Look at what has happened to Clarke.

It's only my view. But I see us as being extremely lucky to have another opportunity and crack at potentially nabbing two of the best mids in this draft and developing them RIGHT. I don't want to hear one post bring up our past failings because the variables involved are now completely different.

It's time to unearth our own stars of the competition.

Petracca

Brayshaw

Viney

Tyson

Salem

Hogan

Under the tutelage of potentially:

Cross

Jones

ROK

Malceski

Vince

Dawes

Lumumba

Vs

Scully

Trengove

Morton

Gysberts

Blease

Strauss

(Who were drafted by a completely different recruiting group headed by possibly the worst recruiter of all time)

Under the tutelage of:

Green

Moloney

Sylvia

Frawley

Jones

Etc

We have been given a golden second opportunity to have a shot at getting it right.

My thoughts anyway..

I like your reasoning stmj. I don't think we can go wrong this year with the picks we should have at our disposal ?

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
