Riley JKH Salem and few others ought benefit from a hopefully uninterrupted preseason and come out hitting the ground running (hard) in 2015. Should have lots of new friends as well

The preseason.

The panacea to all our problems? I hope so....

Thanks guys for the updates.

Just a fadeout or not up to it ?

Defence was under a lot of pressure in last qtr. It would take us 3-4 kicks to get up to the wing, then a turnover and Coburg would run and bomb it long into their goals with the breeze. The fact we kept turning it over says we didn't have the necessary skills and class to work it all the way up to our forward line, despite the number of AFL players on the field. They are just playing to meet mimimum standards rather than to raise the standard.

At the end I felt a bit like after the GWS game. Just empty. It was a very different type of game , but same outcome.

Just so sick of following hopeless losing teams.

We're going to be injury ravaged round one next year, as noted above I think this preseason is going to sort the men from the boys. I wouldn't be planning any boozy holidays if I were in the team.

Feel like Misson is going to continue doing preseason like he has his whole career, won't be much different to last preseason or the one before really.

No, just the 'serenity' some seem to enjoy might change !!

Welcome to planet Earth. We are your friends. Did you bring any good footballers with you in your spaceship?

Hard work in order to build up running fitness and also multiple changes to our list. Kinda sounds like the last few seasons. The one thing I do know that I have heard Roos is against doing massive work on the Watt bike and much more simulation running. But will be very similar to last year.

I think the match play simulation drills will be most vital and effectively enforcing players to do that two way running, especially our key forwards.

How much did we spend on the Watt bikes and is Craig a shareholder???

Possibly explains the purchase and use of them

Craig has been a huge fan of bike training for some time, but I recall one of the first things Sanderson sorted when he took over was to sell those Watt bikes...

I remember reading that. Pretty sure Roos did much the same this pre season.

We should sell ours, could well fund a big recruit...

I think Craig did some work with Australian Cycle team way before he took over as coach as Adelaide? ?

last time i checked you dont ride bikes on a footy field

Waste of time using them in training

Hell yeah. Don't lift weights on a footy field either, should be doing bench press with footballs. Really heavy ones.

They're good as part of a cross training program and injury management but I think Craig seemed to really focus on this kind of thing too much.

Not a waste of time totally but yep agree they don't ride 'em on the ground so surely you would have to think about getting more miles in the legs in a game type situation which seems to be the Roos approach.

How else are players with leg or back injuries going to stay fit genius?

Don't use any of these things on the footy field either:

-Weights

-Pools

-Monitored diets

-Balance balls

-Ice baths

Quick, better stop using all of them....

Seriously though, you're the worst poster here, by a long way.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
