Retiring effectively and immediately.

Does Neeldy have a Twitter feed?

Let's be gracious though. He did give us 100 games, did love the club (though his passion was a little misdirected at times) and was a B&F winner. Well done Beamer.

When Scott Thompson requested to leave it left a huge hole in the list and whilst he wasn't as good as Thompson, he was a good replacement and certainly gave his all for the club.

I agree CB unlike some others on here I bare him no ill will.

I often wonder what would have happened if Roos had been the coach in 2012.

He is, of course, welcome back to the club if he wishes.

That isn't to say he acted with great regard to the club in the lead up to him leaving, nor that the club did the best by him in that period.

But he played quite a few games for this club and played well.

Well done.

I don't bare him any ill will, nor will I bare him any kind parting comments, for me now he is nothing more than a Brisbane player.

I was disappointed when he left, however in hind sight I think it was one of the better things to happen over the last few years.

Totally agree with this.

The way he left the Dees was disgraceful and didn't deserve to be treated that way.

Neeld u r a disgrace and your time at the dees will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Good luck Beamer.

ha, the Mighty Pigeons beckon.

must have a lucre-ative contract on the G O.

I think Roos would've ripped into him for a lack of two-way running.

That aside, it's a shame when any player leaves a club - especially one he supported as a kid - with such a bad taste in his mouth. Hopefully this sort of thing is better handled going forward.

The messy ending doesn't undo the years of service he gave prior to that. Well done Beamer.

Neeld was so desperate to assert his authority on the club that he neutered the natural leaders and put two 20 year olds in as Captain.

Weak people can't stand extroverts.

Guess what- you can't win without them.

I thank Beamer for his service and wish the Carey grammar boys luck.

Be interesting what career path he takes now.. Just always seem to me that he was a Fevola type, Good at footy but not much upstairs.

Leaves him in a large group bb

By my estimate about 80% of those going around.

His fashion career is bound to take off......:huh::o:blink::)

did he still have a year to go on his contract?

Think he only had a 2 year deal with brissie.

A Demon fan growing up he gave teriffic service for a large part. Seemed losing and new regiemes got to him in the end. Still remember him belting out the song in our victory at Geelong in 2005. Great passion in those days.

Enjoyed him as a Demon. Unfortunate string of early injuries. Played a few good seasons for us. Not very well behaved off-field but no major crime. Parted on thoroughly sour terms.

With his retirement, I for one will also retire any bitterness or ill-will towards him.

Was sad with the way he left the club, but ultimately he was never going to get much more out of his career at the Lions. I hope he remains a Melbourne man now and into the future.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
