GAME DAY - Round 17

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking the youngsters like Viney and JKH are the only ones who will be playing finals at this club. The list is just in too awful a condition.

Yep you nailed it P Man. This list is damaged beyond repair.

But Satyr will no doubt hound me again. Not that i care.

I said at the time after 186 everybody had to go who was involved.

I still believe it.

Just to deep a cut to repair.

whats the betting Roos presser:

"Well theyre a contender and we know where we're at. We were given a comprehensive lesson by a better team....yada yada yada ...blah blah blah !!! "

Rome wasnt built in a day, a football team not in a year I realise but this is a throwback to our bad days

Changes for next year. Keep Viney, Dunn, Jones, Howe, Vince, Daws, Jamar and get rid of the rest of the players and recruit new players so that we can play real footy. I'm sick of dumb footballers. Slow and dumb.

Is Jetta injured?

He's crying on the bench...

Really? I didn't think he'd been to bad compared to others. Was surprised he was subbed except for the fact that Terlich had to come on in the back line.

Looked a bit that way but I don't think he was actually crying. Probably just disappointed he was subbed out - which is fair enough.

.

He appears to be ok.

I have a good view of the bench and he had his head in his hands and Grimesy was comforting him. Must just be upset at his performance.

I don't know why they subbed him though. Tappy has done less than nothing. I would have subbed him off and put Terlich as a defensive forward.

Oh well, deck chairs, Titanic and all that.

In other news it's so cold I have lost feelings in my fingers.

True about Tapscott. The only explanation I can think of (barring an injury to Jetta) is that Roos wants to see as much of Tapscott before the end of the year so that he can make an informed decision on his delisting, which appears inevitable at the moment.

As I said at the start of the year...there's only about 8 AFL level players I would persevere with from the present list. Roos has also killed off any confidence the group may have had after his "teach them how to play AFL, club is strapped for cash" etc comments a few weeks back. Watching a little of the trianing in the week leading up to the Dockers match, they looked rudderless and that is how theyve played since. Roos is the coach.... he is there to get them up each week but atm failing badly.

Not much on the park to work with but hasn't helped his cause of late and is in danger of losing most of the group.

Stating the obvious but massive clean out looming at years end

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
