Players to target at the end of the year

If I didn't barrack for MFC I would put Viney behind McRae, Wines, Libba and Bontempelli. Bye the bye Libba senior was in Seminyak this week. Stayed at the Breezes Hotel/Resort.. The weather was fantastic.

Bontempelli has had a few good games, but it's unfair to say that he's proven more than Viney.

Libba is definitely ahead of Viney.

Agree totally at this stage but all 3 are very good footballers

Having said that I think Tyson at his best is as good as any of them, but he is a little bit hot and cold, Wines and Mcrae are playing like 150 gamers consistently, I know it's a topic to avoid on here, I have faith in Jimmy but wow would Wines be handy in our side

Did you go out with him and get a display of his white line fever. Or has he cleaned up his act for good

Viney can burst out of packs with regularity, i havent seen Wines or Macrae do that. Macrae has received alot of flack for possession use.

Viney can run into two players and keep gonig.

He is a rare breed in inside ball

Wines can run into 4 players and keep going.

Viney needs alot of work on his disposal efficiency.

Sorry but your wrong on this one.

Tyson has had a pretty hard tag most weeks too

Wines ahead of Viney by quite a margin.

That isn't a slight on Viney, he was injured much of last year.

I think Jack Viney needs to work on slowing his game down at times.

McRae finds a lot of space, because he isn't rushed, same as Bontempelli.

After hawks v swans block buster... any players from these lists would be welcome.

Gary Rohan impressed me and if available, would be handy!!!

Rohan showed a lot tonight and there is more to him than pace, certainly worth keeping an eye

I've always said Roos & Stone will know his worth probably better than anyone. May have a lot of upside.

Seems much better suited down back. Plays like Blease when forward. All pace, no idea. But down back he has height and strength so can be a really good two way player.

Is Shuey injured? Haven't seen or heard of him for a while... Clearly when he plays well, the Eagles look great... He's a rock solid player and i definitely target him in a trade, if he could come back 100%... Same with Richard Douglas...

I saw a bit of him tonight in snippets & IMO looks ready to show up. getting reg games now, so may be hard to convince to move?

Some interesting reading on GWS' border protection worries:

Interesting article! It would be great if Roos was able to secure Cameron and/or Shiel come year's end!

Dayne Beams Is OOC next season and a free agent,

would be interested to see if some big dollars could get his interest, Collingwood might feel pick 3 or 4 is far better than the compo they would get next year if any.

Is he a FA though? I thought it's a min 8 yrs service for FA eligibility? Bumper crop next year either way. Dangerfield the big name, but Scott Selwood would be a terrific addition to our midfield. Not flashy, but can get the ball and is a tackling machine. We enquired about him when we floated pick 2 last year, I wonder if we've kept tabs on him?

His free agency status is currently up in the air, but i'd say there is a very strong chance next years crop the minimum is 6 years because of the huge push for that, which brings Beams right into the mix

I don't think there is a very strong chance at all, even the AFL can't change the rules regarding FA in the year they will implement it. They gave the initial FA a three year heads up.

Okay, fair enough

either way it leaves Beams OOC and as far as I am concerned fair game

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
