I don't know whether to quote you the lifeline number or give you the hose for your car you pathetic excuse for a human being. Yeah, the hose.

Lifeline is the better option.

Think if how upset he will be if we start to win when we get the good half of our side back.

Mumford destroyed Spencer today. Not even close to a contest. Spencer was woeful.

I've never seen anything in Spencer to suggest he'll be any good at AFL level, and 2014 has strengthened that view.

can't understand why Spencer has been given 3 games, he was woeful first and second week as well

I agree its too late.....we are dead.

The supporters are walking Zombies, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

We had a preseason full of hope, only to have our hearts ripped and stomped upon once again.

I can understand one , two three, four or five poor years, but weve been trash for ten years now with no end in sight.

I hate the buggers now, because my son just hasnt had a chance to fall in love with footy.

this thread is [censored] depressing

I'm just about over the [censored] Spencer gets on this site. The guy is about 25, has overcome knee recos and I reckon played about 30 games. He is still on his L plates. Of course the big guns like Cox and Mummy will do him. But just watch him, he attacks the contest one out. He works hard, tackles and is aggressive. He doesn't throw in the towel. Just try getting smashed by those big blokes and having to front up contest after contest. FMD there are some armchair heroes on this site.

Because he did a better job in the ruck than Fitzaptrick would have.

Seriously I didn't think Spencer was so bad today all things considered. His job was to try and nullify Mumford, he had no chance of beating him. The last quarter was poor for centre clearances but overall I thought he did about as good as could be expected.

At least it was an improvement on last week. It's a pity it all fell in a heap in the last quarter. The win was there for the taking.

The turnovers are still killing us. That and the brain explosions once we get close to the forward arc. And the stopping and propping is driving me up the wall. Move the bloody ball on. You don't score when you give them ample opportunity to get back and set up.

Not sure where a win is going to come from this year. Can almost pencil in a 0 win season.

Spencer would only exist on Melbourne's list.

Terrible player.

I have a 16yo son who stopped asking about the club ... Turned off, no interest.

He was 8 when he saw them play finals in 06....

Don't think he will buy a membership when he turns 18.... How many other young kids has the MFC burnt in the last 8 yrs??

I still do, why I live in hope....

From before the game the giants were pushing into our players and getting physical they showed intent.

Giants tackled and put in first and second efforts when too many of our players fell over or slipped just gave up, Howe was a prime exponent of this, in the last quarter he went up for a mark on the kickout and spilt the ball, he stayed on the ground and got up slowly while the giant player fumbled the ball, then finally kicked it into towards goals with no pressure from howe. No second efforts from him and several times punching the ball away over the line when he was the only player going for it.

Spencer seemed to try, but lacks the skill, just tries to get the hit out to his feet, so even when he wins a hitout its usually it can go to anyone. He was physically out muscled by mummys boy.. To be fair he was thrown around like a rag doll at times and did not get any holding man decisions. Until he can actually hit out to advantage he is a liability, put in a taller midfield and everyone rove to the opposition ruck man.

Evans disposal was woeful, Terlich worse still... Grimes was noticeable by his absence.

Watts, lazy does not commit to tackling, a few times he got goals after he spilt the ball and then the opposition players fumbled resulting in more of an accidental possession than a go and get it type, he needs to go in and get the ball. and he needs to tackle.

Too many players pulled out of contests.

it the giants had kicked straight this would have been a massacre instead of just a very embarrassing loss to probably the 2nd worst team in the competition at this moment.

it saddens my heart as a demon supporter to see such weak hearted efforts by so many players.

Would be good if he could occasionally take a mark or kick a goal

[censored] weak shot Chook. How well do you reckon most blokes would go after Cox or Mummy smashed into you in a contest? Spencer has a long way to go - no doubt - but he doesn't deserve the rubbish he receives.

BTW, Liked your post but I'm not so confidant about the Carlton game.

Have a look at carton play the bombers I'm not so sure we won't actually.

Also I am surprised at the amount of negativity about today's game.

Agree we turned it over too much but it was a big improvement on last wk.

The reason we have had so many years being down is because we well and truly fooked up the rebuild, 2010 we had the right blend and from there we decided to off load older players when the younger players weren't ready to carry us through. CS & CC created drama amongst the playing group and we have been found wanting in leadership. The way I see it we started the rebuild again last season and are 1 year into it.

I see us as being comparable with Richmond 2010 but we really have to get the rebuild right, I don't think we can afford any longer to draft the player who will be a gun in 3/4 years, we need to draft the ready now or trade early picks for 2 ready to go players because we need to be competitive and start showing improvement. I have actually given up on ever seeing us win a flag, I actually just want to see a season where we don't get belted regularly and go into 6-10 games with a chance of winning

I must say that sitting here in Rome and reading everybody's comments on the Demons (& the Scorpions) makes me somewhat relaxed that l will be overseas for 8-9 weeks this footy season. And to think that l was actually excited over the Christmas New Year with the prospect of Misson managing Clark, Dawes and Hogan as an enviable forwardline!

Mate!!! Try and extend your stay for about 22 weeks.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
