Maybe with this high possession footy jonesy can become one of the best this year. something to brighten your day. lol

Just saw a short grab on MFC training today on Fox sports news.

Showed Roos addressing the group and then in one on one discussions with several ( Toumpas was one ) during training.

Also mentioned Viney and Garland were training with main group but Gawn wasn't.

Best I can offer on today's training.

Be nice if we were informed what was happening, all sessions closed on website. Thought of going down and checking but have wasted time doing this before when they didn't appear

Just saw the website now advertises today's (but didn't have it last night) and Fridays sessions.

That they couldn't have included Today's session on the website until this morning is just pathetic. Understand if they are wanting a closed session but turns out it was just incompetence.

PJ talks about things changing, but little things like this make me question how much is changing

I wont get too upset about that because at least I know we have Roos coaching and PJ running the club but I do sometimes wonder about a lot of the people we have getting paid (not usually big bucks I will add) to do all the things like website, membership, promotion, logistics etc. I am hoping that PJ and Roos' level of excellence spreads throughout the club and all staff are happier but also working harder and smarter.

Thanks anyway. Hope Viney is back this week and Garland in the VFL.

PJ is doing a great job, says all the right things etc etc. I hear the same BS about each administration until the leave us in a diabolical state.

Until I see the club ran in a professional manner in all areas, I will worry about how the club is run.

My first hand experience late last year left me disgusted with the behaviour of staff at the MFC.

You get a Friday session in Melbourne, but there is nothing for us here in Sydney which is very disappointing. I was hoping that my son would get a chance to meet a few of the players again, but alas, it looks as though it's not to be (we can't afford to attend the brunch... and besides, my son has his first game of the season with his team the Newtown Swans Under 12's that morning (game day), so time would be a bit tight. (they had a Gala Day last Saturday and won 3 of 4 games, ending up 3rd overall - made me a proud dad).

Opened the thread hoping to see that MFC had an on field training session following an all player and coaching staff meeting where video analysis of other clubs were watched.

The analysis showed that players attacking the ball were given the benefit of free kicks and were able to make mistakes because they were supported by their teammaates who provided outlets or shepherding to allow space. Players were alerted to the fact that players ran to space and their teammates kicked to that space where numbers gathered to repeat the above actions. When marks or free kicks were given they were taken quickly and directed at a player in space. Players ran onto balls that were kicked into space and closed down opponents who were running into space.

Players were able to witness the team characteristics where players were acknowledged by their teammates not ignored

Players were directed to take their first initiative option their teammates were directed to understand what any teammate would do and act on that.

I know its difficult but Roos has stated its a confidence thing and I reckon if they watch other teams they might see that they too make mistakes but also have persistence . We have been used to persisting with too few resources . We now have better resources although we have obvious injuries but it is time for those that we have to step up to their potential.

The training session was not so much a skill session but a fun session where players tried to match the endeavour of Jones and tried to anticipate what Jack Watts would do when they gave him the ball. There was constant movement the whole session as players created space. There was a renewed intensity that was maintained for the whole session after which the players stayed together and discussed their relationships. Players became teammates and understood Why and How they must work together. External issues were solved through working together so that concentration on the matter of playing elite football was possible

No such luck

Calm down, saty, but yeah, if someone has written something that seemingly refers to something as if it happens in the future but it appears a few days after the fact - it is most likely your own cache issues.

Press F5 and thrive.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Once again inaccuracy and inefficiency going inside 50 rears it's ugly head as the Demons suffered their second loss on the trot and their fourth loss in five games as they go down to the Pies by 38 points on Kings Birthday at the MCG.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.
