Like many things in science this is not a practical scientific truth. You will get many who argue the opposite, where diet is concerned there seems to be no consistency in the scientific community.

They can argue all they like, but this is not theory or hypothesis, it is FACT. At the level of amino acid delivery through diet, the full spectrum is available in a plant based diet. This is not complicated, nor is it disputable.

No more science please!

The whole theory of diet is disputable 'Webber' and you know it.

A vegetarian diet may or may not be best practice for an elite sportsperson, there is no fact here.

I'm not debating 'diet'. There is no question that a uniformly 'ideal' diet for everybody does not exist. Different people, different needs. I'm talking about the provision of complete protein via a plant based diet as biochemical fact.

Then the MFC has no chance of winning this game then DemonOX as they will not be anywhere near them at 3/4 time.

I live in hope DemonFrog cause that's all we got.

Peter Siddle is doing a vegetable diet and i'd say he is a pretty handy sportsmen, i think it changes person to person

Any chance Jordie might play this weekend? Just saw him having lunch with big Spencer! Another one Roos is trying to protect from AFL level footy until the develop?

We have no one to kick goals so I guess no goals=loss and it really is a matter of how much we can stem the tide.

It's a pity if we have to play Pederson and Byrnes again but I bet we do.

I'm not sure if Blease is the answer, but I guarantee Byrnes isn't so he should come in. Bernie has to play in the middle, Tapscott has to show if he cam play and should go in to the forward line to replace him.

Gawn to replace Fitzy if he can't play, or Pederson if he can.

Thanks for that Robbie

Now I am very glad I am in Sydney and won't be able to go.

Not what I'm saying 'Sassy', I think the subject is debatable were as 'Weber' states it as fact.

It could also be argued that Siddle is not the bowler he was.

Happy to help.

Might join you up there, or might just go anywhere.

Just thinking we got Hogan and Dawes and Barry in trades and none of them are playing this week.

The really sad part Robbie is I don't think the first two will play before May at the earliest and the third is not up to it.

Roosy has just said that max Gawn is just about a definite starter this week vs WC

Plonk the big fella at full forward, he will straighten us up

Would also like to see Blease come in. We need goals and he loves them.

Gawn, Blease, Howe and Fitzy (if he recovers from concussion) up forward will at least give us a chance to kick a winning score

h_h Blease has kicked 24 goals in 31 games i.e. an average of 0.77 / game

Not sure where you get "We need goals and he loves them". he is a one trick pony IMO

He does an occasional dash and then takes ten minutes to recover.

Who would you take out to give him a run?

siddle doesnt play a contact sport in a position that requires strength and tackling

That weak bodied Brett Kirk was a vegetarian.

He played that role in the intra club game I saw (Yes, this vastly different) and he looked good. I reckoned at the time he was being groomed for this tall forward, hard to match up on role. In any event WC are going to kill us for size so have to bring him in.

Byrnes...In a heartbeart, forget that he kicked two goals last week, he was lucky to be on the end of a great run by Watts and kicked another 30m out. Didn't see him do anything else.

Just saw the injury update - Dawes still the old 2-3 weeks. Must be the slowest calf rehab in history. Wonder if we're not being told porkies and it's his degenerative knee. Also said Hogan at least another 2-3. Everything seems to take forever!

A couple of weeks ago Chook I was saying that 2-3 is football speak for 426.

Nothing since has convinced me otherwise.

Forget both till May.

I don't think Dawes will play in 2014 unfortunately.

If you don't treat the calf correctly and come back early add more time on top,

What do you base this on?

His health since joining the MFC has been as follows

Twelve from twenty two last year including a calf injury.

Failed to make it through a game day warm up session.

Had a calf tightness a month ago had has not appeared on the training since.

Sent to the sports institute in Canberra because they had no idea what the problem is.

Do you see a trend here?

I thought Hogan was TBA.

Got a reputable source for 2-3 weeks?

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
