Frawley wants to know...

Sorry it was a typo, play frawley at CHB and let Mcdonald develop deeper.

It did sound excessively silly.

Makes sense.

I don't think there's much difference between them being named FB or CHB - it's all about matchups.

I'd rather chase wins instead.

I don't blame Chip for waiting. Not one bit. We've been excellent on delivering hype and terrible delivering results for the whole time he has been at the club. I'd sure as hell want to see that we aren't just doing the same thing over again before I committed my next couple of years to this club.

Quite simply it's up to us as a club to give him a reason to re-sign. If we can't do that in the next 4 or 5 months then we deserve to lose him.

Chip will put success before cash, unless we are stupid enough to let him name his price. He's loyal, but not to the point of stupidity. Who'd blame him? Would anyone here put their struggling workplace above their own personal success and goals?

It sums up the MFC at the moment. Show some success on field or die.

We can opine to our biased heart's content and beat our chests as much as we want, but at the end of the day (or season, as the case may be), any player of substance just wants to see success and play with their mates. As PJ said, culture and list management wins premierships. Throw heaps of cash around and you may not necessarily get success. Get wins, develop culture and you have a better chance at a flag.

You can't expect talented players to blindly commit without the club having some runs on the board in terms of wins and management.

At Casey, he was moved onto him after half time and Hoges hardly touched It. Mind you Geelong did give us a touch up. The previous game against Geelong was at Simmons & Hoges was BOG.

So the ball didn't really go forward? I didn't see the game but hardly sounds like he gave him a bath, maybe more like limited supply unless Riv got leather poisoning.

Riv is not a good one on one player particularly against strong forwards but let him float across and he will kill it. Remember the Doggies game a few years back and Malthouse was in the commentary box saying you can't allow Rivers to zone off, he saved the game in the last Q. He doesn't get that luxury very often now and doesn't have another string to the bow.

I was at that game and it's true that Rivers was given the job of minding Hogan after Jesse kicked two early goals. However, it wasn't a case of Rivers giving him a "bath" so much as the fact that the ball hardly came into the forward line after that anyway and when it did, the delivery to the forward line was abysmal. The Cats controlled the midfield, dominated the inside 50s and beat the Scorpions by more than 10 goals.

I think its likely that the tables would be turned this year if Hogan was given reasonable delivery by a half decent midfield.

Post less, think more Toady. Quality over quantity.

That how the Germans lost the war Moonie.

There went Quality but lost out to Quantity.

WJ you could change two words in that sentence and it would be describe the Dees last two years

"opposition " and "dees".

If you don't have the ball it is hard to kick a winning score.

Does this seem like BS to anyone else?

Frawley wants club security

I believe him personally, i think he is in a similar place to Watts mentally, wants to see improvement, know who his coach will be and make us feel abit desperate and add a few extra o's to his contract, until i watched that i thought he was gone, now not so certain.

No BS here.If the coach has only signed on for 2 with an option of 3 and Chip has had 7 coaches in 7 years and played in 31 winning games in 118 then I would play the system too !

Yeh, I believe it, and the Easter Bunny, He is going to a new club so he doesn't have to change coaches.

Great logic Bluey, so who is Roosey going to coach after us so that Chip doesn't have to change coaches ?

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
