McKenzie kicked in head -- free to Geelong !!!!!'

Disgrace

[censored] the slide rule. Such a joke.

One Sydney player breaks a leg and the game of footy gets changed forever.

Same thing with a new ruck rule mainly for Adam Goodes because some rucks had no technique.

Salem, Hunt, JKH?

Any of those could do better than Burnes, right now

That sliding rule is utterly ridiculous.

And Jordie's wasn't even a slide - just gutsy head down over the ball

Trengove gets first hand on the ball from the middle and handballs it backwards when he's running towards goal, why ?

Roos will play them and drop them if they don't perform.

Byrnes I mean

Matt Jones and Byrnes need to just sit out a season and learn how the hell to handle a football before coming near a playing squad again. These brain dead turnovers are embarrassing and inexcusable.

There were free players all over the center of the field and he kicked it backwards directly to Bartel. I mean, [censored]!

When you consider that we have given them 3 goals by kicking backwaeds and gifting them the ball, a 5 goal 3/4 deficit is reasonable

Geez don't bend over and pick the ball up cause if u do its a free to the opposition if u bump into their legs.

What a rubbish decision

look, I guess the style of game we're playing will show up a few players who aren't up to it...I don't think Geelong are great but we're missing our key players forward and back. Frawley, Garland, Dawes, Clark..by the way Georgio is safe, a real revelation.

It's abit easier to see that from behind a computer than out in the middle of the battle with Geelong having their tails up, i get it's frustrating but a young team is always going to make errors, the important thing is we have competed, shown alot of good signs and haven't allowed them to blow us away

The turnovers hurt, but I hope Roosy is still encouraging them to take the game on. Until our confidence is up and we have some games into the younger fellas we will still make mistakes and look silly at times, but outside of that we already look a far, far better team than the one we had last year. Plenty more positives than negatives.

Time for some perspective. It will take the boys time to gel as a unit. Not a bad display so far.

Anyone want a positive, Bernie Vince! Adelaide will be wondering where this form was last year.

Salem yes. Not the other two.

Viney and Tyson give us some left footers through the midfield and away from clearances. If Salem and Barry come on that's a couple for half forward and outside midfield. Kent and (not that he counts Byrnes as well).

We badly need at least one from half back. Grimes kicks ok on his left. Nicholson (who I must say has been good tonight doesn't count). What I'd give for a Malceski or any of the Hawthorn left footers. Xavier Ellis could've been worth a thought in hindsight (lets see if he stays fit).

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
