Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Pretty sure Roos would have kept Sylvia, Frawley and Clark is the price was right, but he did not bust his boiler trying to keep them. Roos would have seen enough of Sylvia (and heard enough) to cut his losses; he would have weighed the price of keeping Frawley against the price of his leaving; and he would have known keeping Clark was a risk.

I miss Stephan Martin

That is one of the "so few" and he did well last year.

Have a look at the list of those picked up by other clubs from the last seven years, it's a veritable "who the hell was that?".

Posters should remember that a lot of these good list decisions have also been made under Todd Viney.

I reckon Todd would've been bettr placed than anyone to tell Roos that Sylvia wasn't worth it.

Yep, but you could call that one of many of the previous regimes blunders.. he's a ripper.

I too like Steph but he had around 8 good games one year when Jamar was injured and the rest was pretty ordinary.

A bit like Jolly who could never get more than around 15mins of game time under Daniher when Jeff White was around.....

i'm not 100% sure but i was under the impression that Martin wanted to leave and that was a big driving factor behind the trade, keeping him may not have been an option?

There was a story about a bust up with Todd Viney when he was coaching. Stef was supposedly late to a training session and Todd ripped into him...

Yeah, that sounds familiar, my opinion was based off an article i read so may very well have been totally off the mark.

Ah well, plenty more time to do the things he really loves now, possibly also become reacquainted with a few blokes we know:StevenBrentandCollin.jpg50860_f4b70b331179b7c385aec1c6fe63237c.j

Those photos are almost like one of those evolution of man pictures. The first one was just of some young blokes having a beer together(though I must ask who the third bloke is?). The second one is of it's natural progression to the becoming an outright tool stage (complete with photo of NSW bike boss).

The next step of the evolution is for Col to move to Queensland to be closer to Beamer. They can then relive their salad days on one of Australia's biggest nightclub strips while blokes like Hodgey and Selwood are just as content to go to bed at 10 while being content with their 3 day premierships safely in the trophy cabinet

(and 2 Norm Smiths in Hodge's case).

Wow.....You seem a bit bitter Col B.....I don't know why you think having a few drinks off season is unusual for young blokes......I know of a lot of AFL players who go out til the early hours even in season....I admit that having a water with a Bikie is probably not the best idea. I don't think they were arrested or were drunk at the time of the photo and I take it you presume that their lives are headed for rack and ruin but its their lives and they can do whatever they want to

They would have earned a fair bit of money in their playing days....So good luck to them.

I always liked Sylvia and Beamer and was disappointed when they left, but that is footy these days.

Anyhow........Neither plays for us anymore so my interest has wanned but I wish them both success.

I wouldn't call it genius but if Roos really wanted to keep Sylvia we would have given him a better offer, same with Frawley.

Clark, I have no idea what the story was there but it did appear we didn't work hard to keep him either.

Sylvia to me was a no brainer, highly overrated by many on here.

So true - no brains at all

And BTW history is written by the winners. We won out of all those three deals.

pretty safe to chalk up the Sylvia/Vince one as a win but the jury is obviously out on the other two. Clark lines up on Sunday wearing Cats colours and Frawley tomorrow night for the Hawks. Meanwhile Petracca has done his knee.

We got Brayshaw for Frawley.

I called for both him and Moloney to be traded years ago.

I think CLark will struggle. HIs body is pretty fragile even when he is going well. After such a long lay off and with a history of calf and foot injuries he will struggle IMO. As for the mind well its safe to say thats fragile too.

Frawley could do well at the Hawks but no-one in their right might would suggest he was worth pick 3...So my view is that its a win,

maybe not.. had we had pick2 only it may have been Brayshaw's name read out

doesn't change my point. Not that you care, you just like to nitpick mainly

So much irony in this.

If we had pick 2 we would have most likely selected Petracca and Frawley would be wearing red and blue for 2015= We wouldn't be having this discussion in regards to Frawley the jury being out....

But because we picked up pick 3 from Chip leaving which netted us Brayshaw its almost exactly a straight sway which i find a win win for both clubs. Though i am not surprised you completely missed the point.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
