Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Where does he say that? Link?

I am surprised as well - he played last year in the pre season stuff, as stated elsewhere his knee scare was just that and he needs blooding

"Jesse probably hasn't done quite enough. He joined in the intra-club last week and played around 40 minutes, probably not quite enough to play," Roos said on Monday.

After last weeks hit out McKenzie is a certain starter, perhaps even as a free running mid. He was clearly in the best half dozen.

For a moment there, I thought you had written "After last weeks hit on the post'' ...

Make all the "it's only a practice match" excuses you like, but if we go out there and start our 'new era' with a 100 point loss, then this new found confidence that our players supposedly have will be out the window in a flash. We need to be competitive

Well there goes my excitement.

Yeah... we finally get a midfield in place that might get the ball to the forwards, but this week we will have no forwards for them to get the ball to :-) I'm actually a little excited about what this may force them to do... we might see Toumpas given a run forward which might in turn see Salem get a run. We will now almost definitely see JKH get a run and maybe even Barry.

The Pedster has been firing in training (or so we are told), so if the mids can get the ball to that end of the ground effectively, there is no reason why he and Howe cannot contribute on the scoreboard (we also have Dunn who can, at a pinch, go forward).

Pop Gun?

Hey OD, separate the cork from that piece of string and the pop gun becomes an effective weapon.

(not sure where I'm going with that, but I think it sounds good.)

Yes good having an improved midfield and for them to have nobody inside 50 to deliver it to worries me. I don't think Pederson and Fitzy are adequate substitutes despite being a somewhat fan of Fitzy. In Friday's intra-club, Pederson was nowhere in the forward half when JKH was trying to find a forward target, so he ended up delivering it back into the middle. I despair already about Friday evening and just hope that we are not beaten too comprehensively prior to coming up against Geelong the following week.

I would far sooner discuss guns, corks, string and pops hardtack, way more interesting

Lady if you want excitement, may I suggest you give the footy a miss and go to the movies to see The Wolf of Wall Street.

Seen it already. Good movie.

I know I'm asking for a lot, skipping Valentines Day to go to the footy and expecting excitement. Absolute guarenteed failure right there.

Maybe we pick a bunch of skilled smalls for the forward line and instruct the mids to kick it along the ground into the forward line.

the moment you realised you are p-whipped ;)

It's strategic planning. She sees the pathetic obsession I have with the dees, I figure get in the good books early so can get out a bit more when the real stuff starts.

(AKA p-whipped)

as far as excuses go, missing your entire forward line is a pretty good one

It's the 14th of FEB......I for one am happy that these players are held back at bit....until the real season starts......The "Woe is us" brigade are out in full force.......These games leading into the REAL season are called practise games for a reason

I understand that us long suffering supporters want to win, just win something, but I would rather have the tall forwards right to go for the REAL season where wins mean something.....

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
