Judgement issues.

Apparently smelt like a Ponzi scheme a mile away.

We could have had Vlahos on the board in the Neeld error.

I wonder if Craig Cameron had anything to do with their involvement.

You have to wonder how intelligent people get caught up in this type of crap; perhaps they saw it as alternative to free money from Nigeria or the shares issued from Thailand's boiler rooms.

Yes you do but it seems to happen a on regular basis.

Our x president has lost a lot.

not necessarily od

if he got in early and cashed out his dividends

and was in a higher pyramid position

he might break even or have just a small "real" loss

i guess we'll never know because i'm sure those who cashed out any dividends (rather than reinvest) won't be disclosing

I would think that this is a very touchy subject, one that has potentially affected the lives of a number of people, and could be seen as criminal behaviour.

Should we really have a thread about this? My call is for mods to shut it down before it gets out of hand (given that 99.9% of threads on this site eventually do!).

Well it is but only after you send me the details of your bank account and a bank cheque for $100,000 so I can clear the funds through the local bank.

A friend of mine bought some shares through one of these Thai Boiler rooms and when they went belly up he bought more to try and cover his loss; guess what happened.

I'm sure he must have had sucker tattooed on his forehead because he fell for every scam known to man.

It is astounding Robbie, you just wonder at what is going through their grey matter on these occasions.

Two things spring into mind

- There is a sucker born every minute

- If it looks to good to be true then it is.

Word around here (close to Monday night's action) is that an OMCG may have had money 'invested' with Vhalos.

A report in today's Age says that as much as $500 mil could have been invested - and none of it punted.

Old, while I understand what you are saying, these parasites prey on the weak, and are generally very good sales people. Of course some people are just too easily sucked in and are oblivious to the "too good to be true" cases, but it's the vulnerable ones that I feel sorry for. Too many times they target those that aren't in the greatest state of mind, and the consequenses can be costly.

The suckers that put $$$ in just to make a quick buck, yeah, I don't have too much sympathy for them (it has happened to me before - won't go in to too much detail, but while part of me is still peed off at the bloke that did it, the rest of me blames myself but doing so with "how silly am I" grin on my face!), but it's the vulnerable ones that feel that this is the answer to breaking some of their financial shackles, often those that are older, they're the ones that upset me the most. Sure, they probably should know better, but sometimes that's not the thought process at the time.

I still vote for this thread to be locked, with the key thrown away.

I see the thread as a good warning to all, doesn't matter who you are, there are plenty of sharks about who are willing to drain your funds.

Hear what you are saying Bluey, but given that it will attract comments like that of "angrydemons" above, I'm not sure if it's the most constructive place to get a message across.

I understand what you are telling me billy.

But what amazes me is the number of seemingly intelligent people that get sucked in.

A number mentioned in the press I would have thought were far from being fools but in they go.

Obviously They are not as bright as I thought

Probably a similar thought process to all those Demonlanders who bet on MFC each week in the last few years.

The line in the Herald Sun summed it, "it attracted everyone from pensioners to the penthouse".

I've seen multi-millionaire businessmen invest in things that have gone belly-up. Greed? To some degree for some, but not all.

He was probably trying to extricate anyone it could come back on, before he bolted himself.

Quietly move everyone else and then one day do a houdini.

Not convinced by the staged "bashing" either.

What goons would leave him with just the reported "bruised face and some blood on his shirt"?

And he was found on the nature strip, where the "attack" would be in plain view.

If it was legit, he'd be missing toes and teeth, and they wouldn't want witnesses.

From friends in lower places I believe a hammer smack down onto one of his Sourav Ganguly's would be standard practice.

I mix in better circles these days

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
