Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Maybe Mitch re broke his foot and everyone there died hence no reports...

I had to read this 4 times before my brain told me everything is ok, and paramedics jump started my heart.

So thank you for the most dangerous joke I've ever read.

I braved the conditions. YOLO.

It's as gloomy as our 2013 season. Cold, wet etc.

When I got there they were doing grappling and runthroughs.

Jetta, Blease, Gawn doing running.

Dawes is here and doing some ball work.

Short kicks followed. Westrupp went for some attention to his left hammy.

Salem training with the main group.

Forwards focusing on snapshots. Midfielders focusing on keeping the ball away from the 'opposition' wearing a green vest. Defenders are focusing on switching the footy.

Watching JKH doing snapshots, he is a natural. It reminds me of watching Aaron Davey.

Ball handling work follows. Drill focuses on picking the ball up from the ground at speed.

Bit of rain hit. Everyone scurrying for cover except for me knowing that rain doesn't hurt. Even the Victory boys scurry off, not to be seen again.

Byrnes working in rehab group too.

Ball handling skills decent given conditions

Howe went to retrieve an errant Tom McDonald kick, then proceeds to jump the fence in one go. Howe'd he do that. Such leap.

Full ground drill followed, ball use the key. Set shot at goal when ball was in forward 50.

Stretches followed by another full ground drill. Run and carry the focus here. Dom Barry and his exquisite kicking in the wet standing out.

Michie has so much poise. Uses the ball so well.

Salem leaving early but it was great to see him in the main group.

Defending drill through both groups (split in two). Been similar to what they've done all pre season.

Harmes is quicker than I thought.

Repeated 300s for the boys.

Ball use drill. Focusing on entry inside 50.

Group gathered in the centre. Draftees/rookies went for a spell on the sideline.

Another full ground drill. Drying up, skills getting better.

Nicholson has also joined the main group today.

Jack Viney had a bit of a hip flexor issue and went for a spell. Anything but an issue judging by his running.

More grappling.

Drill similar to the one done on Friday. A kick inside 50 and a crumbing goal. One player goes and gets a 25m kick from Rawlings.

The boys finished afterwards and had a chat to a few of them. Pretty much it was myself, a couple of my mates and five pretty girls waiting for the players to get autographs/photos + saying g'day.

Col Garland reckons I look like Matt Jones! Bit awkward.

Rest of the session was mostly running.

Dom Tyson here too. Didn't train I believe.

Seems Kent is still absent from the outdoor training besides the aforementioned.

Kent, Blease and Tapscott or young small forwards that have been missing from the main group. The last two need a big pre-season and yet again are stuck in rehab.

At least Blease and Tapscott have been out there. And I think part of the reason they are in the rehab group is a recognition that in 2013 they just didn't have the fitness base to play the position they are being asked to play. So they are getting the treatment that the rest of the list got in 2012 in terms of remedial fitness work before they join in the skills training.

Kent is missing completely. Not one report that's even seen him out on track as far as I have seen. I mean does anyone even know if he's in Melbourne?

I went and had a look for half an hour from about 10:45-11:15.

Was hard with the rain but don't think I saw Salem, Vince, Jamar, Kent, Dawes, Blease, Fitzpatrick, Clisby or Byrnes while I was there.

A few keepings-off drills, then some end to end stuff with an emphasis on running back hard once the attacking team kicked for goal. Some grappling when I was leaving, trying to rip the ball off a bloke on the ground.

Watts is still Watts. Seems to lope around, appearing to go at about 3/4 pace and intensity. Maybe he was buggered, but I don't think he'll ever be as ferocious as you need to be.

Trengove's pace didn't look any better to me. Had about 5m-7m on Nathan Jones to collect a bouncing ball on a flank. Trengove loped to it, Jones shut the gap down in no time. Trengove fumbled and away Jones went with it.

When I arrived Tyson was on a neighbouring oval with Gawn, Jetta and McKenzie. One would kick to the 3 at the other end with two of them leading and one applying a bit of pressure. Looks a beautiful left foot kick. Very solid through the legs and backside. Watched him then join in the running with McKenzie and he was finishing 3-5m behind McKenzie in a 200-300m run. He's certainly a footballer before an athlete.

Liked the size of Harmes. Nice frame, decent height, was beating Viney in the 200-300m runs. Didn't see him with a footy though.

One skinny brown haired kid caught my eye with a dashing defensive run from half forward to half back to pick up his man. Asked one of the trainers and it turns out it was Roosy's son. No surprises he has had the defensive, gut running drilled into him!

Great to see Mitch Clark bounding around and in everything. The highlight for me was Hogan. Capable one minute of drilling a hard, low 40m pass to Terlich who didn't have to break stride, then outmarking Dunn when he had no right a minute later. Kick came in for Hogan and it was probably going over his head. Dunn had the run up and should have spoiled. Hogan pushed back hard, somehow bumped Dunn and then took it at full stretch in the wet. Would love to see Hogan thrown into a few centre bounces next year a la Jarryd Roughead. Looks like he can just do it all.

This can't be right, I read many comments by posters here stating Dunn is impossible to out-mark one on one.

This Hogan kid must be alright

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
