Connolly a big under achiever in what he actually got done. Please don't get him back in 5 years time! Neil Craig, thanks for your honest efforts!

Thanks to both of them. Chris served the Club well on and off over a very long period and is a Life Member. Neil did a fantastic job in difficult circumstances during his short tenure. All the best for the future to both.

Neil Craig is a loss. Would have liked him to stay on in his role which he had undertaken previous to stand in coach.

His sports science background would have been a bonus for the club in the long term.

Good luck Neil.

Whilst I am no Connolly fan, he is a nice enough bloke and I actually felt a little sorry for him when he was left to carry the can for Schwab and the Board during the tanking saga.

On the other hand, he is another boys club member who damaged the club with his incompetence before being rewarded with an unjustifiably long contract, leaving the members to pick up the tab.

Although a number of the Stynes era Board members remain, hopefully Connolly's departure, along with that of Schwab, will put an end to the boys club chapter in our club's history.

Craig was never going to stick around once Roos was on board. He worked under very challenging circumstances and I wish him well.

If we have to pay them out to get rid of them, then so be it.

Cuddles was part of the tanking and Craig part of the Bates saga.

In saying that, Neil Craig was the best person I've seen at the club in over 20 years.

But, the ball keeps rolling, we gotta change it up and take a new approach in 2014.

Both lads gave a lot to the club and should be applauded.

Loved Connolly as a player but he has been paid out in full and is lucky because he helped us underachieve massively during the "Mates" regime! The club has to stop giving long term senior positions to people who are unproven and then even extending their contracts only to sack them and pay them out soon after. How many thousands of dollars are we gunna pay in 2014 for people who are no longer at the club ???? Must stop this, the AFL has only so much to give us and we are still a long way from filling spaces with "better suited achievers" ! FFS get it right.

CC was the fall guy for the "tanking" balls up.

That is the reason for his pay out.

Had a soft spot for CC.

However the past regime over the last six years lead us to what is our poorest position in half a century.

Am I glad that from the Chairman on down they have all been moved on?

YES

Now the task of fixing the crap list they left us with begins.

That is going to take another 2 -3 years.

I watched first hand Schwab and Connelly set back Freo 10 years and couldn't believe we hired these 2 Muppets. They should be remembered for the sacking of a beloved captain a good coach, the debacle at Kardinya Park , the hiring of a dud coach, the worst recruiting record since the Dockers , our worst loss at home in over 100 years and the financial strain upon the club by giving contracts to mates knowing full well that they were more than likely going to be moved on or made redundant.

Don't let the door knock you in the head on the way out !!!!

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
