can someone correct the thread title?

Lol, why?

I find it amusing that the only thread in the whole recruitment forum that actually has confirmed facts is also incorrectly titled.

It's full of lies. Lies I tells you!

The thing that continually makes me laugh is that supposedly its only NOW that some of this sports major luminaries have discovered that the COLA was just being used to enhance the general funds for paying players and not all equally as it was intended.

My my...there really arent too many clever ones around are there

If they take him off the list it must be realised in 1 year.

oopphhh brutal, but you make the bed you get to lay in it. Can they just keep him on the list on the long term injury list, is there a time limit on that? Or just keep him on the list and just be 1 short on the list?

I did have a laugh to myself this morning as I waited for my $3.80 cup of coffee and read the Herald Sun's cost of living comparison between Sydney and Melbourne, in which only dwelling prices were higher in Sydney than Melbourne. And that too can be argued, as some suburbs in Melbourne attract a far higher average home price than Sydney.

Wasn't there an issue at Brisbane where Voss retired but they had to keep paying him?

yep.. He was officially on the list as I recall, just didnt need to turn up

I laughed as well.

Laughed at the abysmal 'journalism' that article entails.

Was noted today by Anderson that the salary cap has almost doubled in the last 10 years and may do so again in the next 10 years.

but buddy won't be there in 10 years.....or anything remotely close to

as pointed out by others the remainder of contract has to be paid in the following year

assuming no major injury (always possible) he'll be lucky to make 5 years

Also Mumford has gone to GWS

What I am completely failing to understand in all this is how Buddy has already stated he is off to the Swans and Mumford is going to GWS yet FA period doesn't start til Friday and trade period on Monday??? Am I missing something? I thought clubs couldn't approach/offer contracts to players until after these periods had commenced? Or is it one rule for some and another for the rest??

The two $$ydney clubs are a law unto themselves. "Special cases".

Buddy confessed he was very upset and heartbroken to be leaving hawthorn and all his great team-mates

In fact he was so upset and heartbroken he contemplated giving all the money to a worthwhile charity

..........and then he woke up

How do you know he won't be?

well for starters hes only to sign for 9...so hed be off by 10

This is a ploy to get some clever accounting happening . Hed be as suggested lucky to get 5-6 years more service.

Arent too many trotting around after 32/33.

9-10... never going to happen

Over the past couple of seasons, if memory serves, Buddy has missed quite a bit of action due to injury, and regardless of whether these were chronic or not chronic, as he ages the body becomes less able to cope... Buddy is NOT a Tuck and he is NOT a Fletcher... he will be done by age 31 or 32 and the Swans will be forced to pay 4 to 5 years of his contact out. They are in for a world of (financial) hurt.

If only. You can be sure that the AFL will ensure they have no problem.

Yeah he missed quite a bit of time last year due to "injury".

The thing that up-sets me about this is that the extra $900pa that Sydney have in salary cap is essentially what they are paying Buddy. Sydney get a superstar for their extra salary cap. The living assistance salary cap is out-dated and must go.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
