Morton ran quick... away from opposition players...

yes he was quite the master at "defencive running"

Sorry couldn't help myself

I've had exactly the same hip procedure, it gives you the ability to completely rebuild your core and change your biomechanics so you'll have far more speed and power long term.

The first 12 months of the rehab though are a slow process and should be treated as such, especially with an 18 year old kid playing in a team that's nowhere near finals.

If you thought he looked quick and powerful in his tapes pre-surgery, hold onto your hat, the kid will be significantly better than that in the next year or so.

Toump will be a genuine gun!

Okay - I apologie for this. I am overseas, opened up Demonland, didn't sign out and one of my traveling companions thought they would pose a question but used my details. I am very sorry and happy for the moderator to delete this thread. I just realized now when I turned on my iPad this morning.

BTW I am a huge Jimmy fan and think that in time, he will be a great player for the MFC.

Hmm...you sound suspiciously like Craig Thompson. Except you have excellent taste in football teams.

Has anyone else noticed that Jimmy Toumpas often gets caught with the ball and

lacks pace.

I remember Jones in his first couple of years used to get caught with the ball when he tried to break tackles.

I like tha Jmmy has confidence to have a crack and take them on. He reminds me of D Hawkins (please do not hold me to that).

Jimmy will be a star! (you can hold me to that)

I am bullish in regards to Jimmy. He is tracking nicely and I fully expect him to improve in all areas next year. The mentoring of Roos will prove a huge upside for this man.

Toumpas was top 5 in every club's ratings. Wines was clearly a lower rating than Toumpas in most clubs' ratings.

We will remind you of your poxy comments when Jimmy is trumps.

mmmm.

Played like a first year player tonight. Not knocking the kid, he's been good but lets not pump him up too much. He was well beaten, only 14 touches at 50%. I'm not always a big believer in stats but my feeling watching tonight was he really had no effect on the game. The stats back that up.

I'm not willing to call the decision on this one just yet, but happy for you to have your opinion. I have a feeling that both Wines and Toumpas will be good players, what I can't take is the comparisons with Gysberts and Morton. Toumpas might not be built like a tank but he has far superior skills than the those guys which will set him apart.

Anyway, I guess I must be one of those idiots you are talking about.

I hate to belittle anyone in life, but you are a muppet with as little footy knowledge as Julia gillard. You're yet to raise a valid point, and all you do is disagree with people who's opinion is different to yours. You are either the worst troll going around, or you are so far short of having any sort of credible footy knowledge or understanding of the game.

I hope for your sake you go and watch chad wingard who was taken at number 6 in the 2011 draft and see how many said port should have selected Toby Greene before him after one season, or back in 2007 how many said Adelaide were crazy taking pat dangerfield before brad ebert.

I don't know why I've even pointed this out to you as you have zero footy nous. But good luck to you.

I'm just going to throw it out there...

not having a great first year doesn't mean for one second Toumpas won't be a great player for us,

Wines has had a great year, that's fantastic for him but there have been many players who have great first years and don't get any better

lets wait til they have each played 100 games and judge them.

And meanwhile over on "Ology" the debate Hots up!

From an ology poster!

Toumpas is slower than even Brock McLean because his hips are shot to bits. The club knew about his hip problems before the draft but drafted him anyway. Meanwhile Wines has been tearing his opponents a new one every time he plays. This might be the worst recruiting blunder of them all, which is saying a lot - worse than Watts over Natanui, worse than Trengove over Martin, worse than Cook over Darling. With those blunders, there were excuses. With Toumpas, there is no excuse.

Hnmm interesting comments

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
