Beware of the Demons - the rise has started

Bit like a soufflé at the moment; on the rise but if someone slams the door it will sink just as quickly.

I have every faith in what's going on at the moment but want to see how we draft before I start getting too excited. Thankfully no more money players that can't play.

Stop it robbie I am stuck here in Melbourne!

Still I have no.1 GD for company tonight.

Too many false dawns in the past. I like the appointment of Roos a lot. But let's be realistic and not get ahead of ourselves.

Could not agree more Ms

Right now we still have the same list that has been unable to beat time with a stick for two years.

Lets hope we show some improvement in 2014.

I will be happy with 4 wins and being competitive most other weeks.

It has been at least twenty years (since Barrasi) since I have seen the sort of excitement amongst Demon supporters that I experienced yesterday.

Lunch with Demon mates numerous phone calls excited talk everywhere.

How good is it The Demons will become a powerhouse and will be feared I now believe it!

Even the miserable season has faded away never to be spoken about again.

A Brand New Day.

Haha keep it in your pants mate.

Some of you lot need to understand a very basic idea.

Those who do NOT dare to dream will achieve everything they desire.

Those that can appreciate the past and learn from it know that it is the past. The present in fluid and the future is yet to be written

Only pessimists have dismiss potential. Realists tend to temper but secretly they cosset a wish for things to bloom

Man has only evolved, only progressed by dismissing the limitations suggested by the some.

Sounds like foolish rhetoric I have no doubt to some. Hope yo then are happy wearing lids, I'll wear my scarf, I'll dare to think we might get somewhere. others do and they werent even Melbourne. They believe so why cant you .

The rise has not started...The right fouundations are being put in place.

Do not get ahead of yourself...The planning must be done slowly and correctly.

The assistant coaching roles are critical...Roos is coming in cold...He must choose very carefully who he works with & who he grooms for Senior coaaching.

You are spot on, it's a necessary step and an important one, but by no means is Paul Roos the answer.

Roos will set the foundations, which should at least give us a chance to succeed - that alone is worth getting excited about, but not carried away over.

WYL, good post mate.

I have to find my scarf first! Now where did I hide, I mean put the thing?

I also have a dream but the wife is a counter balance to those dreams.

I get the feeling she may has deceived me by actually supporting Collingwood, so I keep telling her she is a MFC supporter.

Is it wrong to make the wife support the same team as her husband unless she already supporter the MFC and the husband does not.

Anyway I am with you all the way unless the wife stops me and my dreams.

What we need is for the effects of Money to work over Time. Now as ever its about Us and Them and in the end we ought to Eclipse the rest :)

You're becoming more bitter than me Moon!!!!!!

Jeezus! That's like a mini-intervention Bitty. I'm shocked.

Ok, i'll change. How about this:

I'm so wrapped that we got Roos and I expect great things very quickly with our substandard list, maybe even be feared by all other clubs, maybe a flag in 12 mths! Wow wee!

Better?

After the last 7 years, ill wait til i see it on the field for an extended period before i even begin to think we are rising again

We are getting the right people in place so at least we are giving ourselves a chance to turn things around

its better than the alternative

all i can say that if Port have done it, there is no reason why we cant.

Roos is a far more superior coach to HInkely and our list is probably better

Alas I'll be home in a couple of weeks, in the sun by the surf at the moment.

I really think we will do ok next year, but I'm not expecting a Port type resurgence, they had and have a much better list than ours; then again maybe our list is better than it seems but poorly coached. It was poorly coached but who knows about the quality.

What might have been od, if only we had a recruiter who had a clue, imagine our side now, even Neeld would have been hard pressed to fail.

That's just typical Moon. A fickle and shallow post.

Ugh - jeez. I'd prefer if we could just sneak up the ladder quietly this time. The bleaters on BigFooty and such have been a massive source of embarrassment over our previous iterations of "rebuilds".

How do we get the title Freshly Showered?

LOL

But we haven't had a A grade coach before who instils confidence in the players and has a track record for getting the best out of average players.

Recruits (not all) who went to Sydney were average and turned into quality players.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
