Surely Davis is gawn.

I'd also say Gillies, Sellar, Jetta, and Couch have played their last games.

While he's been ordinary this year, I'm pretty confident Tapscott will survive. Bail, Nicho, and Tynan are probably 50-50s, depending on who's available in the draft/free agency?

Guys we have a contract thread to check out before you comment on those contracted. Unfortunately it includes a lot of guys I don't want on the list. And also remember Hogan will come onto the list.

So:

Retirements: Rodan, Davey, Macdonald

Delistings:

- Sellar - no need for another depth tall when we have Pedersen

- Gillies - see above

- Davis - see above

- Jetta - just hasn't showed enough

- Tynan - not coming on quick enough, poor skills

- Nicholson - skills and vision aren't up to it

- Couch ® - slow, small, poor skills

- Magner ® - see Magner

Possibly Stark ® - injured all year and not great when he isn't

Trades if we can get anything
- Blease
- Struass

- Bail

- Tapscott

In terms of main list its 9 changes plus maybe more with trades. Hogan will come on and then we'd need to find 8 more: 5 draft, 1 PSD, possible rookie upgrade for Clisby, 1 PSD/FA, possibly traded players in for a player for player trade. So that's how it's looking.

Roos likes his players to have a tank and be able to run out games, he likes them to have discipline and do a job he asks no matter how simple it may seem and if everyone does what is asked the team achieves the goal and the player stays - This is a plus for Nicho and Bail

Not sure why taggerts in danger. Hobbled by injury and his work load looks to have been managed all year and from the bits ive seen id stick with him for another year.

I think Jetta will remain and a remote possibility Sellar will be kept as depth.

Who are we going to delist then?

Sellar has to go - we have a huge amount of tall forwards and backs - we need mids

Surely the club know that Nicho and Bail are not part of this clubs future.

We also need depth for our back line... who comes in if Frawley or Garland go down? I think the delistings will be Couch, Magner, Tynan, Bail, Nicholson, Gillies and maybe Tynan and Davis... as well Rodan, MacDonald and Davey who have retired - that gives you 11 changes already. I see Sellar as being a little like Jesse White and maybe worth persisting with. And after watching Jetta on Sunday, I think he still shows some promise.

We have a few retirements at the senior end, but I think the younger players will have to wait on the new coach, whoever it may be. I doubt the club will start culling before then, and given we don't know what sort of priorities the new coach has, it is fairly pointless to speculate at this stage. I can say that there are a few I'd like to be rid of who are contracted still, and there are some I'd love to keep who are OOC and may be moved on simply to make room on the list.

Taggert has been on the list for two years.... Hasnt played one game... People are eager to trade Watts, but are happy to hang on to players that have shown zero? Jeez....

This is why I'm so angry that they didn't let him play this weekend. At least give the guy one chance to show he can play. It's not like he hadn't earned it with his performance for Casey. He should have been in the side after kicking five, but for some reason they simply refuse to give him a shot. Now he's going to have that stigma hanging over him with a new coach moving in looking to make changes. It really has to hurt his chances of still being here next year.

Are you suggesting that he'll ask to be traded? You've got to be kidding! The kid has had quite literally no impact at senior level. Has showed very little to suggest he will become a good player (bar a few good performances at Casey). We have persevered with him through early injuries and he hasn't repayed the club in the slightest. He is LUCKY to still be here and owes the MFC for giving him a shot.

With three retirements, as i understand we are no obligation to the AFL to delist anybody it is merely what Roos and the recruiting panel feel we can secure through trade, free agancy and the draft who may improve the list. Having said that, most of the suggestions made by Demonlanders appear on the mark.

Agree about Jetta, Sellar a spud though!

For me, the jury's still out of Sellar... every now and then he does show something, and I think a coach like Roos may just be the person to be able to bring out the necessary consistency. As I said, more for depth, but with the right tutelage, who knows?

That could be said for many other players, hardtack. Neeld recruited for his paltry game plan and only played players he thought could execute it - Jack Fitzpatrick missing out for instance.

I think players like Jetta and Davis have more chance of coming good under the right guidance. Sellar for mine needs to make way for another midfielder.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
