Paul Roos coached Davis, Shaw, Everitt and Hall..... These guys were all D-heads.

This no D-head policy is nonsense and a media beat up.

The phrasing would be more accurate if it was the "we will make you not a D-head" policy.

Go get Dusty.

His best footballing comparison would be Colin Sylvia, but with even worse off field behaviour.

A huge massive NO for me

How? Unlike Sylvia, he gets stuff done on the field. He's consistent and a big ball winner with strength.

Whats the disclosure rules for drugs strikes? If (big if, there's no way of knowing, but it is likely given his history) Martin has two strikes altready is he obliged to let any potential suitors know that? Reason for the question is yes it's all well and good offering him the $650K a year, but what happens if he never gets on the park due to a third strike during the off-season for example?

That's my only negative in picking him up.

who knows with self reporting..

the merry-go-round will go about, where it stops nobody Nose.

my only question is where does herbert Adams end up? I hope he doesn't end up wearing Yella & Black

Can someone explain HOW Dusty will move to a new club?

The way I read it is that he has been offered a contract so cant go straight to PSD.

He must enter ND or be traded.

He will not make it through the entire ND to the PSD, someone will take him.

I also think we would never offer pick 2 for him, and someone will offer up something before our second rounder (assume no PP).

Does this seem correct? If so, a trade would be required (Richmond would be keen to take something instead of nothing, so imagine this is what will happen). WHo would want him, and what could they give up?

Wow i didn't see that coming...thought he would sign.

Interesting addition to our midfield if possible.

Roos did get a flag with Barry Hall on his list...

Is that you Mark Neeld, or is it Nathan.....

The football side of things makes me want him, but this guy sounds like he has serious behaviour issues and we don't need someone trying to fracture the culture we're trying to build.

Why do people think that we are able to get any player we want via the PSD? It's ridiculous!

Oh, lets get Adams, Swallow, Martin, what about we ask Ablett to come through the PSD to us? Why wouldn't he?

He is chasing money isn't he?

Will look forward to what she comes out with if he leaves.

I've gone from 50/50 to would take. I'm willing to overlook the odd d-head act for a player of his ability. The talk of him being a culture cancer seems overblown when you look at the progress of Richmond. He will mature as he ages, and his talent is undeniable.

Doubt it, I'm not sure he has a long future in the game.

I can't wait to see what some of those commenting that we shouldn't go near him with a barge pole, will say about Roos if he were to take him on. Should be interesting :-)

Told the Tigers he wants to chase the cash:

http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/2013-09-16/martin-to-pursue-other-offers

If we're going to get some additional midfield leadership support to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, I'd say give him the cash and bring him in!

Very hard to get a good trade done here. I wouldn't want to give pick 2 for him and they wouldn't take our 2nd round. Pick 2 for Martin + their first pick? Not likely.

Not going to happen.

Noooooooooooooo! Football clubs are made up of a wide and diverse range of personalities, and for the most can accommodate most. There are however exceptions to the rule and The Super [censored] that is Dusty is one of those.

If he is serious and wants to turn into a truly professional footballer, then surely he wouldn't mind signing a contract with get out clauses for the club.

Chippy I am fairly confident that you cannot write that sort of contract.

The players union I believe bans clauses that say all is void if you do XYZ.

I don't believe you can add a " D Head " clause

Not going to happen.

Probably not, but my comment still stands IF he were to do it. (I'm just playing the role of devil's advocate).

are you sure just being offered a contract means you can't go straight to the psd

i thought if he was out of contract then that is enough to go straight to the psd

otherwise clubs could just play funny buggers and offer a silly min contract

Saying this again..........

Roos has a history of taking on troubled players.

It's so funny that everyone was saying we should have picked him up instead of Scully because he was clearly more loyal and was going to repay richmonds faith. Well he hasn't.

Mind you he fits our bill, midfield, good kick, 10 years left in him.

We have some money freed up and could offer Richmond a trade with Sylvia if they are really keen!

That being said, he is selfish, money hungry and does not really hang out in the best circles, and I think this has something to do with him wanting to move!

My guess is GWS.

Have cap space;

could get him through the PSD;

already looking to trade for his good mate Sam Fisher;

and spent time growing up there after dropping out of school (remember reading pre-draft that he worked in the same gym as his dad for a year or so, giving the swans hope they could zone-select him).

Would work for us if GWS commit to taking anyone in the PSD, because then we can do that ourselves once a player commits to us (Adams).

The uncontracted player can choose to go into either draft (think Luke Ball and Kurt Tippett) or agree to a trade.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
