Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yes it can all be subpoenaed either directly or through what is known as Third Party Discovery. Failure can lead to contempt charges and even jail if wilful.

Hird may flush out stuff that is not in his or Essendon's interest, then.

Tim Watson is quoted this morning as saying "So if they (the AFL) know what they (the substances) are, why can't they come clean and tell the players and tell the parents so that we can all get on with our lives and stop being fearful about what they may have been administered?"

Sorry Tim, I thought that was Essendon's responsibility.

that's an amazing way of twisting the blame.

why cant the afl tell us?

WHY did Essendon put the stuff into their players bodies?

why did the players allow it?

I think you'll find that Hird is now so consumed by pathological rage that his thinking has gone right off the rails. His advice team arent that much cleverer so it would seem .Either that or they are yes men pandering to his royal highness !!

Classic case of "careful what you wish for " lol

He is not gullible. He has his own interests(Jobe) to protect. He is a fellow traveller and doing his bit by putting out disinformation. Just like the ex Iraqi propaganda minister he is.

you have a point.

He must be a man after Hirds own heart if he thinks anyone is buying it.

Im starting to wonder whether in amongst all this that there wouldnt be cause for some to be legally prosecuted let alone penalised by ASADA and or the AFL

What Messendon have perpetrated is nothing short of Mens Rea surely ?

I'm also wondering if James will get advice from his spin merchants to start talking the talk of showing care about his players today. You can almost guarantee that, wait for the comments from James.

You've backed a loser spin boys, what a disgrace.

Particularly if you a guilty of misdemeanours.

I agree. Makes you wonder about the feckless goons on this site who were advocating MFC take the AFL to court over the tanking.

You are not comparing this Essendon situation to the MFC tanking are you??

Please, they are eons apart.

If you have not heard the anonymous players Mum on MMM this morning, do yourselves a favour. As a parent I was close to tears listening to it! Walls are crumbling at windy hill.

Pretty strong isn't it.

James is in this for Hirdy. Paul Little is just as bad.

The Golden Child looks a little stressed.

My question to Mr Hird was it a Black Ops AMBUSH from the AFL?

You know what horrifies me?

The fact that during 2012 when a lot of this was going on in Hird's world, he was also coaching an under 9 junior football team in a competition in which I'm a life member. Now, I'm not suggesting that the activities in which he was allegedly involved at Essendon were reproduced at that level but the thought that this person was in a position to work with kids absolutely appalls and sickens me. What would they be thinking now?

AFTER MUCH CONSIDERATION,THE KIDS ARE ALL NOW 10 YO

SURVEYS HAVE TOLD US THE MELATON AND PEPTIDES HAVE ALLOWED THEM TO REACH GREAT HIEGHTS IN WIEGHT GAIN AND MUSCLE GROWTH, ALTHOUGH SOME MINOR SIDE EFFECTS SHOW UP EVERY NOW AND THEN

THE PLAYERS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO FINISHING THE YEAR ON A HIGH AS THEY ENTER THE 2013 GRAND FINAL AGAINST THE BALWYN U17 TEAM AND CELEBRATORY SHAVES WILL BE THE NORM AFTER THE GAME

SO ALL IN ALL ID SAY EVERYTHINGS GONE WELL

As usual you miss the issue

A club taking the AFL and therefore the game to Court is common to both incidents even though the severity of Essendon problem far exceeds Melbourne's tanking fiasco

And in both situations it's insanity and a death wish to do so. Essendon's ridiculous action vindicates the basic common sense at MFC not to do so six months ago.

If ASADA issue infraction notices on evidence of banned substances being taken then surely the AFL would right to add penalties onto the minimum suspensions under WADA.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
