Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Can someone tell me if the NRL Tribunal that judged the Cronulla affair was held in camera?

I assume from the paucity of information we received about that judgement, that it was.

They didn't need one. The players coughed up when they saw what evidence ASADA had and made a deal. Anything the NRL needed to do from there was just rubber-stamping as far as I recall.

what-is-the-meaning-of-life.jpg

I know this! The true meaning of life is actually Seven: add your 42 together, 4+2 = 6, add yourself to the equation: 6+1 da da = no 7!!

. . or in keeping with our thread: take Jimmy Hird's famous jumper number (the no 5) add his two heads: 5+2 da da = no 7 again!!

How awesome is the universe!!

Quite funny really unless he paid the fine he would not be working there anyway.

The other funny thing for me is that he was the first person to raise questions about the supplements program and he is the only not still there.

The bizzare thing is Ess won't pay the measley sum of $30K fine but they paid Hird a $1m to take a year off and paid for the course in France!

Thompson saved their bacon this year while golden boy was leading the high life in France!! Bottom half of the 2014 ladder for EFC without Bomber!

I'm gobsmacked! Bomber isn't just a sh-t kicker at the club. Champion. Premiership Captain. Reluctant but successful 2014 coach. He deserves better from the club he has served so diligently. He is entitled to be mighty mighty peeved and tell them to GAGS! EFC is a bizzaro club!

We have no room i know, but i would love Thompson & Roos to work together

They are on the same page.

It would be great WYL if PJ can weave his magic spell, like he did with ROOSY.

Essendon have no limits to appeasing their golden boy Tird. They will knife anyone that may tossle his golden locks.

It is like a cult and we all know how they end.

Yes, the whole affair is morphing into a Shakesperean drama.

If we look back to the period just before he became coach he was portrayed as being a reluctant saviour begged to return to restore the clubs glory. In hindsight it now looks more like he was the mastermind of a diabolical plot to engineer his takeover of the club. I'm sure he was the root cause and agitator of the player go slow revolt that ended Matty Knights career. Edited by america de cali

I think the mastermind maybe a mistressmind named Tanya.

This leads to the the possibility that Tird has been bewitched, hence a victim. Is that possible?

i don't get it

do they just collect senior coaches at essendrug?

hird, thompson, craig, harvey, neeld and they also tried to entice sheedy

just who funds all this?

Yes. You'd be forgiven for imagining such frivolous spending might eventually take its' Toll !!!!

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
