Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

6 - Jordie. Nobody has done that to Ablett in a long time.

5 - Viney. Went in hard all day. Missed a couple of wrong-foot kicks, but in general was a star.

4 - Nate Jones. Same as usual

3 - Kent. Did some really good things, worked hard and provided an attacking option.

2 - Byrnes. Would be 6 if he kicked straight, but he still got 6 scoring shots. That's more than we usually see form our forwards.

1 - Spencil. Dominated the ruck and did some good work around the ground.

I've been critical of Neil Craig in recent weeks but tonight he was very good.

WTF? Did you watch the last quarter? The bit where we had them on the ropes, were dominating through the midfield and had repeat f50 entries AND HE STILL KEPT A SPARE MAN IN DEFENCE. You saw that right? Craig conceded any chance of us winning the game when he refused to send another player forward. Our boys worked their asses off but were being actively hindered by his coaching. He's just killed off any chance he had of coaching this side next year.

6 - Jordie McKenzie - First game back and smashed the greatest player of the modern era who was also plauying his 250th Amazing effort.

5 - Jack Viney - Bled for the jumper and impacted every contest, 24 touches and 8 clearances. Hard to believe he just turned 19.

4 - Nathan Jones - typical Jones game

3 - Jack Watts - 21 touches and 2 goals. On the verge of becoming a dominant player (hopefully at the MFC)2

2 - Colin Garland - fantastic season continues

1 - Jake Spencer - 41 hitouts and gave the midfielders great service

6 Spencer - I'm probably still in shock at how good he's played in his past three - He actually towelled up McEvoy, Brogan and this time Gorringe was a piece of cake.

5 McKenzie - Ablett only had 19 touches - so hard not to rank highly. And he kicked a long goal late.

4 Watts - very classy just wish he'd lay a few tackles as well.

3 Viney - huge first quarter gave everyone confidence

2 Garland - he's become so dependable.

1 N.Jones - plenty of touches but just wish he'd stop running around the back for easy handball.

He gets the ball first; do you want him to stop that too?

Disagree. I'd rather have the ball in Jones' hands than any other and happy to see him developing into an inside & outside mid ala Joel Selwood. He's become quite evasive in the last two season and his skill execution is the best on the list bar Aaron Davey.

Having Viney in the team has released Jones a little and it's beneficial.

There's surely no way Garland isn't getting runner up.

I assume we still don't send anything to the player for this?

I also assume the above question won't be answered, cause questions in these voting threads never are.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
