Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

If you watched today and still think:

-We should draft Boyd

-Neil Craig should coach next year

-Our captains are good leaders

You should give up watching football.

I agree with the top two, i think trenners and grimes probably are decent enough leaders, but they aren't good enough to be captains of this lot, they should still be learning the art of leadership while Jones, Garland or Chippa captain.

Craigs chances are now shot for mine, and we desperately need mids, particularly support for jones.

Clark, Frawley, Garland, Jones, Viney, Hogan and then daylight

Clark will be lucky to play again. Frawley will leave next year. Viney has been underwhelming due to lack of support. Hogan isn't an MFC players yet.

there goes the private school line again, demonstrating the level of intelligence of someone who didn't go to one

Let me guess, you or your parents dive a 4WD. It's this same stereo type that has f#cked this club. Luckily the club is out of the hands of the in bred past ppl who used to run this club!

Years or drafting skinny vanilla kids instead of a few mongrel dogs like Darling, sloane, wines, martin.... Too many pretty boys with private school education who expect it all to land at their feet after being drafted. F**k you Melbourne... Let our best 5 players go to good clubs at years end... Do them a favour!

Yes, it's the private schools that are the problem. Campbell Brown and Cyril Rioli went to the toffee-ist school there is, doesn't hinder them you much you muppet.

It's funny how you took exception to a "private school line" but the rest of my post is acceptable.

My point was we need to draft tough unruly mongrel footballers... Not showy, skinny kids who dominate at underage level where they may have already reached their ceiling.

Can we get over this childish school thing and concentrate on the real issues.

Finding the right coaching group and Improvement of and development of our playing list.

I don't give a flying f... which school they went to, I only care about their football ability thank you!

it's a completely idiotic line, as anyone with the slightest clue realises that the amount of league footballers from the APS is actually massively high in proportion to the rest

'tough unruly mongel' is a mutually exclusive group to the players' educational background

whie I'm at it, would you like to list all the soft private school boys we have on the list cos I count about 2

don't post garbage, we are all angry enough as it is

The concept of playing the ball and not the man seems as foreign a concept to you as it is to the players.

Most here manage not to turn the anger and bitterness onto our fellow supporters, yet you are consistently unable to do so. You are not better than anyone here, get that through your damn head.

Our players have NO bloody idea how to attack the ball. No one even throws their body at the ball!! We just watched the GWS players win clearances and stood there uncertain how to have a crack at it. Where the hell is instinct? I don't care if we concede frees for smashing into them or even get reported. Our softness is just beyond a joke

Amen to that... Soft as wet toilet paper.

If we could introduce performance based contracts this lot would owe the club...

I went to a private school. Nothing sooky about that. Of course in my case I come from a dirt poor family who could barely afford the uniform and we all drive second-hand cars...

I went to quite a few state schools back when I was selling them for the Kennett Government.God it was depressing.

Look at it this way we have had 7, yes that's SEVEN crap years.

This is the last yr we will be crap so lets just sink to new lows during our last crap year cause next season it's a new beginning.

I know we have said this before but this time it's a new board, Pres, EXPERIENCED Coach and HOFD.

These are outsiders coming in with no old boys or jobs for mates.

As hard as today and this season is to swallow lets get it out of the way in our LAST crap season.

I worked in both public and private schools. The main difference I saw was private school kids bought their own laptops off the school (public schools relied on computer class), and private schools kids could a afford heavier more expensive drugs.

That's depressing.

What are you smoking? Can I hace some?

Whos the our saviour now? At least we're a chance of getting Tom Boyd now - even if it dosen't identify any of our real problems

It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to be at the club going forward. From current players of value (Jones, Hogan and Clarke), any experienced coaches (Roos, Eade or Williams), new recruits, and free agents mids of class (absolutely no fa r ken chance of any top liners wanting to go near the place) and any footy managers of note would be really unsure now.

How much of a chance are we to lose by 200 points in one of the last few games?

At the airport at the moment waiting to head back, all players are here and looking pretty down. As you would, after today. Spoke to Aaron again (head development coach, actually got a ride with him in a taxi to the ground this morning from the airport).

Asked him what Craigy said, but he couldn't say much. Thing was, we were up there in all key areas such as contested ball etc, but they scored 8 goals from turnovers which was the real killer.

If you'd like to know anything about the 45min discussion we had in the cab this morning, don't hesitate to ask.

Also went to a function today where Peter Jackson spoke quite candidly about our current situation, so if you'd like to know anything about that I can try and give answers.

Did you ask them how they think we're travelling?

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
