The Demons players need to be given the rest of the year off........ I almost shat my pancreas out from shear rage at the lack of [censored] effort.... There were only a couple of players that deserve half their paycheck the rest should be given a new contract like the lawyers advertise on the tv.... No win, No Fee! Now comrades let us all rejoice in hearing the communist inspired club song!

Thats a bit harsh, Just wait till poor Col Sylvia gets a full pre-season. He'll be a gun one day that boy.

Gotta hand it to Nate Jones, consistently performs each week without support. The guy is an A grader, no doubt. As for the calls for him to be captain, I'm not so sure. He is a genuine leader though as will be good for the younger ones coming thru.

Watts has skills in spades but lacks effort and heart. He has massive trade value and I think it's best for both parties to split.

I'm glad we lost. A win would make us dangerously close to the Saints with the same amount of wins, and we deserve pick 2. For all those who will come back with wins is what the need to change the culture, do you seriously believe a win against GWS will change any thing?

Yes the lose hurts (a lot), but for me, the lose to North by 120 points hurt more and contributed to today's lose.

For my own sanity I think I need to check out of this season officially. I've been to every game and watched every interstate game ..... Today killed me ! Absolute disgust

Fact, I'm not renewing next year until this entire place is cleaned out ! Playing list included, I don't care who goes because us supporters include have no idea what good is ! There's probly 10 players you'd keep.

We supporters need to send this message to the club !!!!!!

Its pretty simple. You have to look at the blokes who do nothing in losses like this, Go back through the season, check the stats. The ones that don't put in the effort are easily sorted.

Then f*** em off. They are killing my club. Gte players in who will run, chase harass tackle and can hit the side of a barn with a kick,

Its our club they are but passing players. Our club will hopefully still be her in 100 years time and those f***ers who have tried to destroy it will be a passing memory.

No, I count Frawley, Garland, McDonald, Jones and Viney...what's that, 5.

We could add Hogan who is not officially on the list yet and I would like to have a look at Taggert, Barry and maybe Davis. But the rest can all go. Probably a bit unfair on the new boys from this year so lets give them a reprieve.

Why does it always feel like we are always the step ladder for the new expansion clubs? Whenever these teams achieve a 'first' of any kind it always seems to be over us.

Now comes the tough part of PJ's job. He has banished a lot of people from the club. It's going to be the mother of all sells to get anyone else in here. I hope he is up for the challenge as the sackings were relatively easy. He owed those blokes nothing and they were going to be paid out by the AFL. The ensuing red ink was never going to reflect on him. Now, he has to show others why they want to be a part of the MFC. If I were 18 again and an aspiring footballer, no way would I want to join the Dees.

And finally, I would like CS and Cuddles to front up on the panel shows tomorrow to explain how well the Red and Blueprint went and why intentionally dropping matches was for our long term benefit.

I wish everyone would get off the 'sack everyone' bullshite!!! We've sacked the Coach, CEO, The President, and had a clean out of players last year. More changes will occur.

The 'Sack Everyone' approach is only applicable if you have the people to replace the people you sack!!.

What this club needs is a coach with a game plan who can set an on field culture, and a learning/development culture that improves the list. The head coach alone will not achieve this. We need quality assistant and development coaches to implement this development.

To name a few, Davey, Blease, Sylvia, Dunn, Howe (great trade option), McKenzie, Grimes, Watts. Byrnes, Pederson, Rodan

Please kindly punch yourself in the face.

Seriously Chook, this club has made me so numb that a punch in the head would not register. My point is that StKilda may take what I consider our 2 nd draft pick if we won today then beat the bulldogs in the last round.

Yes I know draft picks alone wont (and haven't) help the club, but it helps if the club can start to add in factors that other clubs have when developing a team. PJ better start the ball rolling in this area.

C&B its to late for that, my 13 and 15 year olds would rather go to a Storm or Victory game and have pretty much turned their backs on not only Melbourne but footy in general.

Chalk up another two victims of the Melbourne Football Club.

Years or drafting skinny vanilla kids instead of a few mongrel dogs like Darling, sloane, wines, martin.... Too many pretty boys with private school education who expect it all to land at their feet after being drafted. F**k you Melbourne... Let our best 5 players go to good clubs at years end... Do them a favour!

there goes the private school line again, demonstrating the level of intelligence of someone who didn't go to one

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
