If you reverse their score and they kicked 20.16 instead of 16.20, the end result would have been 136-85

I rarely try to defend myself and generally leave myself acceptably open to criticism, but I believe many of my detractors here are getting carried away by the 'feel good' factor of a reasonably meritorious loss .

The reality is , we were comprehensively DESTROYED in most of the important statistical areas , including the score-defining centre clearances .

For whatever quirks of nature deemed that we put up an improved performance, for the most part, the realty is we had very few 4 quarter winners , and Sydney missed countless , and very easy , set shots and running shots for goal .

Our skills , at many times, were deplorable , and we did not deserve to be anywhere near as close to Sydney as we were in the end.

Notwithstanding the above, we definitely are displaying an improved mindset, as evidenced by the number of positive comments I've applied to a majority of players.

Finally, I'd ask all those who have just flippantly derided my comments , and made disparaging remarks, to offer us all their own takes on the players' performances , restricting themselves to 3 words in the process.

And that was despite the umpiring, which was absolutely appalling.

The Swans kicked three goals in four minutes - in my view, as a direct result of the umpires failing to award T Mac a free for his tackle on Tippett.

We had all the momentum at that point. Very encouraged by what I watched today.

I was going to say the same thing, as you know I am supposedly the staunchest defender of all things MFC, I walked away from the G with exactly the same thoughts as Neil Cragi in his presser, yes it was a 4 qtr effort, but we are still way off, but Joeboy's analysis was one of his worst, just so negative, paricularly Nicholson, he is learning to play a new role, yes he still butchers it now and again, but he wasn't that bad....Trengove similarly

The only players that I thought Joeboy was a bit hard on were Sylvia and Howe, but both had only average games for their ability.

I think Joeboy was pretty close to the money. But I need to ask Joeboy, why "Dunn - good but flawed"? I get the "flawed" bit but struggle to find the "good". Every week Dunn and Terlich play in the backline and Terlich gets about 10 more possessions per week. I don't see Dunn as contributing much. And as I've written before, I think his kicking is over-rated as his big hoofs go too high leaving it relatively easy for the opposition to spoil. What do you see?
