Eade senior coach Craig player development!!

I think having Eade as senior coach whom is known to be a great motivating coach and Neil Craig as a player development coach could work real well with our young list. Also having maybe a succession plan after say 5-6 years with a cam ling or James McDonald to take over.

I think unless Craig gets us to winning nearly every game he may get a look in but we are better off getting a quality coaching panel! Thoughts?

I'll take Eade, Chocko or Roos over Craig. All of them have won flags, he hasn't. I certainly have no problem with him staying at the club in that sort of role. It's pretty clear the players get on well with him.

Who did Eade coach to a flag?

Craig can't be hurting his chances, but for me it's

1.Roos

2.Eade

3.Craig

4.Willaims

any of the four would be a very good coach so we can afford to take the time to get this right

whats the point of that? eade > Craig,,, Craig > eade... "comme si comme sa"

If we can't get an A Grade premiership coach, then maybe Choco Williams..... but not Mr Vanilla..

This obsession about our chosen coach having to have won a flag previously is absolute rubbish. Robbie Flower never played in a final until his last season. Neither did Bobby Skilton. But Greg Madigan played in a Hawthorn Premiership side, and Aaron Keating for Adelaide. Who were the better players?!

Starting to think Id rather Neil Craig than either Eade or Choco.

Theres such a thing as continuity, and if Craig finishes off strongly and has the boys up and about then the only thing stopping him from coaching us in 2014 is Paul Roos accepting the job.

And theres rumors that Choco wouldn't work with Craig cos of their Port vs Adelaide days, not sure how true it is though.

Neither has Ross Lyon and he is the best in the business

Don't know about this. Don't think he'd have the Saints in the top 4 this year if he'd stayed.

He's clearly a very good coach - but I don't think he's the best in the business. Not yet at least.

In short, it was a sweet little sidestep to skip off to Freo when he did. And, relevantly, the Saints had a bloody good list for much of the time he was there - yet no flag.

Appointing Neil Craig as head coach with a Scott Burns type as a senior assistant with a succession plan to take over in 2 years may have real merit.

That would be true as Williams is too immature to be a Senior Coach.

I still remember how he carried on after his GF win about the Clubs sponsor.

He may be a really good assistant coach though.

Don't know if the Port players in the sheds shortly after they won that GF would share this assessment ...

Was listening to Patrick smith & he mentioned the scenario of hanging onto Neil Craig for this year & next year but having one of the up & coming coaches as an understudy ..a bit like sheedy & Leon Cameron at GWS. I quite like that idea...the players seem happy with Craig so not as much disruption again & Hinckley at port is proof that you don't always need to be a big name to get success. Eade didn't get the ultimate success, Choco .....why wasn't he offered the top job at GWS....I mean if sheedys coaching performance on the weekend is anything to go by ....choco should of had the job & sheedy, he shouldn't be there & Roos as much as I would like him.....I remember the ugly style of football he was always accused off. If things keep slowly improving & the players continue to speak so highly of Craig maybe they should look at that scenario.

I heard that same segment It is not the worst idea I have heard.

The down side may be is Craig as marketable to the sponsors and members as a Roos.

It seems to me that we not only need a very good coach we also need a high profile successful coach to sell the club.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Once again inaccuracy and inefficiency going inside 50 rears it's ugly head as the Demons suffered their second loss on the trot and their fourth loss in five games as they go down to the Pies by 38 points on Kings Birthday at the MCG.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.
