Lets get a big crowd to the MCG next Saturday night vs Bulldogs

No excuses.

We have a new coach, and one that doesnt accept 6 goal losses let alone 15 goal ones.

Peter Jackson is here now and he is getting the place in shape.

Whether you hated Neeld, Schwab, McLardy or anyone else it doesn't matter anymore. Thats ancient history.

The club has been bleeding financially and a lot of that is thanks to small crowds.

This week is a home game under lights at the G, 7.40 Saturday.

The boys are coming off a good showing where the result would have been only a few goals if not for cheap free kicks in front of goals to St Kilda.

Neil Craig had us playing a proper brand of footy, and for once we matched the opposition in disposals.

Jimmy Toumpas was very good and will just get better. Mitch Clisby was a revelation. Jack Watts is on the verge of a monster game. Could it be this week?

We Melbourne supporters must get to the MCG in droves to show Neil Craig, the players and the AFL that we mean business and we are ready to watch this club rise again.

This is a 50/50 game and the extra support will help the players, help the spirit of the club and help financially.

GET TO THE G THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AND OUTNUMBER THE DOGS SUPPORTERS 2-1!!! GO DEMONS!!!!!!

Don't mean to be a negative nancy but its the night of the Wallabies and British Lions tour at Etihad... but I'm sure the AFL didn't realise that when they were sorting out the fixtures - like how they forgot to give us a Friday night game.

I mean its a pretty spontaneous event, only once in every 12 years, and not really a big deal, just a sell out crowd of 55,000

Ah, that's unfortunate. Will definitely have an impact on the crowd at our game, I'm sure.

We're safe on that front. As if Melbourne supporters would go to Etihad.

Mrs Frankie will be accompanying me, Frankie Junior and the two daughters - one of whom, I regret to say, goes for the Doggies. I can only put his down to a cosmic ray phenomenon - no family influences, nothing. Just decided she liked them when she was about 5, and stuck. All of us will be there for the women's game first.

I will be there......

As this seems like our most likely chance of a victory in Melbourne, perhaps the shock late inclusions of Clark, Grimes and Viney are necessary. We could drop them into the ground with a helicopter an hour before the bounce..... Clark wearing a sumo suit to prevent any further injuries, Grimes in a giant inflatable bubble and Viney sporting tissue boxes for footy boots.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
