cast your mind back to when he wrote that newspaper article on us... Anyone else think, maybe just maybe if all the rumours about him being signed were correct, was this his way of hiding his excitement about the job without coming out and saying ive signed...

ive also wonder y neil craig hasnt applied.. always stating certain things need to happen first... r those things Paul Roos declaring his not interested in the melbourne job?...

Gerrad healy's lil slip up On The Couch the other night...

What exact jurisdiction or power do the AFLCA have. If a guy is getting a promotion it's up to him how he handles his current employer. What a load of trash and I don't expect any club to follow those rules. Trade and preseason period comes up very soon so the earlier you get your coach in place the better. I hope Melbourne have a coach in place before prelim final week

Interesting tonight on 3aw (before Roos comments) Caroline Wilson said she had not given up on the idea of Roos endeing up at MFC. She also said that Leigh Tudor was definitely moving back to Melbourne but hadn't heard where he was off to.

My only fear is that West Coast hasn't decided on their coach for 2014 and they have a bigger cheque book than us!

God, please let it be true... I was on Rocket's bandwagon as I thought Roos was a lost cause. If he is a cause again, put him up at no. 1 on our hit list!

Roos with Tudor as senior/next in line, along with assistants like lingy, Micky o and Kennelly, plus the stability of Geoff Walsh as footy manager makes our field setup as strong as possible. Get them in and announced early and melbourne becomes far more desirable destination come trade week which is the most important thing

My question is why would he say this now?

doesn't seem like the sorta guy to give hope where there is none, blushed when ( not sure who it was ) said this will be the biggest thing since barassi leaving

knows everyone will think this is a done deal, but why not wait til monday and just make an announcement?

recruits, contracts, memberships, & the bluey as mentioned one would think. as there is only one match tomorrow, & we have to have other players start tinking green with envy, about the Red & Blue.

time is of the essenc3e.

now for those sponsors, where did you say they were hiding?

As per AFL new rules, any employed coach regardless of his club's standing is unable to announce a chance in roles until after the grand final. It was written into the new CBA, and is part of the Coaches Union new rules.

If we were doing something with Tudor, like some above mention we would be unable to announce it until September. Maybe because of this, or whatever path we're doing Roos is calmly positioning himself so that all know he will be the man for the job, to appease the Melbourne supporters, but no big announcements will be made until they announce what assistants will be coming with him/ if we have a big name senior assistant. That couldn't be announced till later, so maybe we'd have to hold off till than.

Certainly interesting scenario.

I personally think it's far from a done deal. I do commend Roos for being brutally honest in this whole situation.. I would not be angry at him 'teasing' us like some suggest; quite frankly it's bloody nice to hear some honesty in our game, and to hear him explain how he's gone from no interest and 12 weeks later the nervousness he feels about should he dip his toes into the job was very interesting viewing. If he doesn't take the job, just in that interview he's spread the world to the AFL world that the MFC is no longer irrelevant. For that, Paul you've given me hope again.

t's & i's no doubt....

take the down covers off the bed, its warming up.

Clear shift in his thinking on all of this and has been speaking to Jackson.

If it happens our trade period will look very diffferent.

Watts, Col and a few others may turn up to play against the Doggies.

kento you've already said that.

What part of 'private conversations' don't you understand?

we have a prospective coach who is very serious about ethics, & doing the right thing by others... & their feelings etc...

you didn't need to be so explicit. dobbing everyone in. thats what i'm getting at.

Point taken DL, I'll delete my posts. I never thought of that, just wanted to share some joy :)

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
