Soidee I'm with you, I'm with you as 35 year supporter of the club and love the game but I'm struggling. As mentioned before Salem reminds me of a young Adem Yze Yze waited til Rd13 before he made his debut. Salem will play this year but I think we need to be patient

Anyone who watched the A League game tonight with the Western Sydney Wanderers must agree. First season they made the grand final and tonight they had a sellout 18000 supporters who are incredibly passionate. GWS will be a force in a few years time but the AFL has missed this golden opportunity to convert Sydney people to become AFL supporters. The Wanderers will be the biggest club in the A League very soon. The harder it is for the GWS to succeed, the more draft picks and financial support they will receive while clubs like ours, Bulldogs and Nth Melbourne will be left to pick up the scraps!

Sorry I love Jonesy but after my first and only visit of a melbourne training session, Jack Grimes for me. He epitomises everything we need in a captain!!

Is it just me or is the GWS recruiting team with Stephen Silvagni a butch of amateur hour hacks! They use 2 number one draft picks on key position forwards in Patton and Boyd to slot in with an all Australian forward in Jeremy Cameron...then they select Cameron McCarthey with pick 14 who is also a KPF. They have 2 number one draft pick midfielders in $cully and Whitfield and they use pick 2 on Kelly who plays the same role. Most of the ball is in their defence....why wouldn't you look at Sharenberg and key backmen in the draft. It annoys me as we get crucified for needing a "chop out" from the AFL for finances this year...but no one cares how much $$$ gets sent to GWS or how many extra priority draft picks they keep getting.

After getting excited this time of the year for the past six years sorry for my negativity but he runs fast and he grew 5cm this year........so he has "enormous upside". Don't we have Blease and Dom Barry on our list for this reason!!! Hope he proves me wrong!

It's amazing how the draft selections change towards the last week. All of a sudden we could have Aishe and Sharenberg to choose from!

Purely from a marketing perspective, I'm sure Demetriou would love Howe in GWS colours taking mark of the year. Offering Howe plus pick 9 for Shiel would be an option they would look at plus they have surplus midfielders on their list.....wishful thinking I know but the Dees are on a roll at the moment!

On paper it looks ok as we get pick 9...but Bugg & Buntine are both defenders...dont we need midfielders???? Remember Wells, Cotchin, Nataintui, H Bennell were pick 2!!!

After watching footy classified.....MFC do not go after Dustin Martin. Too much off field drama. Was seen at St Kilda's mad Monday just 6 days before he was to play his first final!!!!

Interesting tonight on 3aw (before Roos comments) Caroline Wilson said she had not given up on the idea of Roos endeing up at MFC. She also said that Leigh Tudor was definitely moving back to Melbourne but hadn't heard where he was off to. My only fear is that West Coast hasn't decided on their coach for 2014 and they have a bigger cheque book than us!

Why are we playing our captain and 1st round draft pick in Jack Grimes as a negating tagger role. Surely he should be in the midfield trying to create and win the ball.
