the AFL will move heaven and earth to make it happen if it becomes a battle with other clubs, WCE and Brisbane don't need to be saved

But they might be where Roos wants to go.

Posted

I think it's past time the club shelved Roos and looked at coaches who are interested in doing the job. There are plenty of experienced coaches out there who would love to get a senior gig again. Why keep pestering a guy who just isn't into us?

Thing is, its not us pestering him , its the media. Who really knows ( other than Gd..lol ) where this all stands between the AFL, MFC and Roos. It may well just be in a holding pattern until certain variables firm up. No need for pestering or such there, just waiting.

and thats where we are, waiting..lol

It would fit for a lot of other reasons bb.

Better playing list, Better place for Mrs R to live, warmer, better life style.

yeah, but wheres the challenge I ask you :)

RM you are assuming they do not have a plan beyond Roos.

I find it impossible to believe they have not drawn up a list of potential Coaches.

Just because the media keeps on about roos does mean the MFC is doing the same.

According to you C&B

Have you ever lived in Perth?

I have had some extended stays there. It is quite a good place to live.

And in the end Mrs roos thinks Melbourne is crap so what you and I think does not matter

not so sure about Eade, maybe williams, but eade would be paid more at collingwood, and with a lot less pressure

Eade is interested, don't worry about that. He has unfinished business.

Happy with two of those, williams is a nutter.

I have a some friends who are mad tigers fans. They say we are welcome to him.

They think is way to flighty.

And why did he not get the job at GWS, they had a year long look and said no thanks.

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.

Congratulations! Haha! ;)

In all seriousness, I'd take Roos comments, along with Rumsfeld's, with a grain of salt. Nothing will be official until after the season when everything is under control at board level, and the season has played out. It's not very common over the past 20 years for a caretaker coach to coach out the season, with a successor already announced during that season. The players will know they are on notice, the assistant coaches will know they are on notice, and until the season has finished, structures are in place and afl financial handouts are formal, we won't be hearing Roos confirm or deny. Or for that matter, Craig, Eade or Williams!

Is that the same Neil Craig who was mentoring MN over the last 18 months, no thanks.

Maybe......but GWS haven't exactly covered themselves in glory in the decision making stakes

No it doesn't.

If you're talking about a place to live healthily, prosper and bring up children, then you're right. It is absolutely no contest.

Just not the result you think.

I agree with this statement. I lived in Perth my whole life up until 5 months ago when I moved to Melbourne. Other than the warm weather (which becomes really annoying after the 20th straight day over 35) Perth really has nothing much going on. The lifestyle in Melbourne is so much better and there is way more going on. Also you don't have to put up with al the Eagles supporters who are my most hated team by far.

My money would be on WCE

They wont pay that much Old Dee, they would rather get a coach for less coin and spend the money on the Footy Department. That's not to say he wouldn't head to Meth Coast for less and be surrounded by a larger off field team.

Just not sure he would move to Perth from Sydney, but like others have said I have no idea what Roos will do next year, having said that I do still believe he is considering the position as coach but is yet to make any decision

What about the Bombers, they will be looking for a new coach soon.

hindsight is a wonderful thing old dee, in 2010 we had a better list going forward according to many. Funny old game and things change very quickly.

when considering Meth Coast's list consider names who will are diminshing very fast and will be gone in either 2014 or 15

Cox - Lycett & Sinclair are not up to it

Kerr - like Cousins and Judd very hard type of player to replace

Glass - very underated and on his last legs, Mckenzie is no where near as good and does not marshall the defence the same was as Glass does

Embley - good 2nd tier player who provides depth

Watters - Bashed his body around and no replacement

Adam Selwood - finished

Le Cras - I will give him the benefit of the doubt as it is 1st season back from serious knee injury but is a long way off his form pre-knee recon

That is a big gap in the list to fill and any Roos will view it this way

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
