Assuming we gain a priority pick and we have picks 2 and 3 do we put 1 pick on the table for a gun afl midfielder like Dale Thomas or do we put both pcks on the table since we are in desperate need of 2 gun AFL mids???

No...he's a free agent.

Fall on the floor laughing until I have to be carted off to hospital.

If we get a pick there's no moral way it can be at the top of the first round. I'll take it if they're offering but the other clubs should hold a protest rally if we get a pick anywhere before #19 or #20.

The word is Piority....that means we go before !!. But I can see where the question is before what.?

In a dream world itr would be before round 1...so we might well end up with 1/2 or 1/3

but we might be run out of town for that combo. therefore 19 seems a political compromise.

But then again, it is the AFL and they make it up as they go along...so wtf knows ...lol

again..just say thankyou for its a freebie..a bone for the dog.....woof !!

Good point. This is why I think assistance will be in the form of mini draft or some other help. I'm not sure pick 19 will help us get anyone who will impact (although it may allow us to trade pick 2 for such a player and still draft a good young prospect). Edited by deanox

the logicist in me thins that here we have the AFL in its usual place de norm....sh!t-central.

In order do deliver to its problem child whilst placating the rabble it must deliver a solution that provides whilst seemingly within precedents.

A mini draft fulfills all of this. It provides an opportunity for us and at the same time ought to really disadvantages no one...not toooo much, not if you allow for "things"

I hope the powers that be, that is OURS, realise this is the closet thing to a last dip for salvation that will ever come our way. [censored] this up, and we might as well all wander off.

I don't think we'll get a PP but if we do I think it will be at the middle to end of the first round, I don't really care about time we stopped worrying about picks to get us out of our problems

If we actually in some way managed to pick up Patty Dangerfield in a trade I would wet my pants with excitement.

In regards to the priority pick, I agree with Supermercado - there is no way we'd deserve a pick in the first round and the other clubs would (fairly) spit chips.

We're not getting Danger, we should get Adams if the price is reasonable.

Of course not, is he even out of contract? Adams we should definitely have a crack at.

If we get a pick at the start of the first round trade it to the dogs for Ryan Griffin. They need a forward for the future and Griffin is better than Thomas. They could then get Thomas boyd who we probably won't need with hogan on the list next season.

Not even worth contemplating. We will not get any player in the next 2-3 years of this quality in a trade.

Trade Kennett to Collingwood for Eddie McGuire, he is out of contract.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
