Rumour or confirmed?

No, needs experience has none.

Dermott gave a dark horse in Peter Schwab as coach but I think he has all the experience and skills to head the football department. Administrator, coach, media commentator and premiership player. Coming up on open mike this week, when I saw this I thought he would be the type of person we could do with.

From a very good source. Not confirmed as not in media yet!

Neeld would be very nervous. At least we know Ox wont hold back his thoughts.

and the difference between the both, so what you are saying is only the Ox can tell the blunt truth but Neeld cannot???

Would prefer him on the board or in a spruiking role like Connolly's as I suspect he will probably be asked to look for work elsewhere when his suspension is up.

I love the Ox, would love him really involved with the club.

Could he be worse than what we have? Possibly not, I also think he is also smart enough to seek advice.

I think David Schwarz would make an excellent media personality.

When PJ said we needed to bring in the best people in the business, I'm very doubtful that he was implying Ox. Your "good source" is yanking your chain.

He could be a figurehead President, but he'd need a great team to support him

Nup. Get him back at the club but we need a bloke with experience in that kind of job. Get the Ox on the board but not in that job.

Peter Schwab WOULD be an excellent head of FD.

And Mahoney has experience? You have been informed!

Repeat after me: Presidents aren't just figureheads. Presidents aren't just figureheads. Presidents aren't just figureheads.

Relevance? Mahoney is probably (surely) one of the primary people Jackson talks about when mentioning people too inexperienced for the role they are in. It seemed apparent to me at the time that he was appointed that it was because he was contracted but not required as a coach.

Head of the football department is vital, not something we can chance, maybe he would be better as a forward development coach or something, could think of much worse influences working with clark, dawes and hogan, possibly watts if he plays forward.

He's an intelligent bloke Mahoney. Know him through a friend but never get any good info out of him. But your right, it's a bloody big role for someone as inexperienced as he is.

Sorry, but being no worse than what we have already doesn't hold water. We nee LOTS of high quality, experienced people on board. What people management skills and experience does the Ox bring? He's a media personality FFS. The only reason he'd be smart enough to seek advice is because he's he has no real smarts himself. Don't get me wrong, I really loved the Ox as a player and love the way he supports the club and wears his heart on his sleeve, but that's about it. No thanks.

Passionate people often make an immediate impact among a group which is especially true with a young list

Passion can also be blinded with the emotion and make blunders due to lack of experience

IMO Peter Jackson is the seasons best recruit and will make decisions and recommendations based on what is best for the whole club which is my preferred option

Jackson is no dill and will use passionate people like Ox in spots which do the most good

There are lots of problems at the MFC and this season will be important

Ox is a great thinker but also a passionate peoples person. Something we lack.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
