Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Port Melbourne v Casey

If Spencer doesn't get it done against Carlton, he may be the unlucky one. That would push Gawn into the main ruck spot and let Fitzy go to full forward and second ruck.

That's how I also see it AF. I think Fitzpatrick has tremendous upside.

Also worth mentioning that gillies got injured in the second quarter and didnt return so we were one man down in our rotations for most of the day. To sit behind the interchange as I did for the Essendon game two weeks ago gives you an idea of the frantic nature of having four bench players coming on and off constantly.

Davey looked a long, long way off earning a recall based on today's efforts. Would have had no more than ten possessions for the day, much more is expected of a senior experienced player.

I went to the game today and I'd have Fitzpatrick ahead of Dawes to come in next week. Wasn't impressed with Dawes at all. He had a good 3rd Qtr but that was about it, got a goal handed to him in the last qtr from some great work by one of the Casey guys. Fitzy took a number of strong marks today and kicked a great goal in the last.

Blease and Davey were in and out of the game during the day both had flashes of good play but not a 4 qtr effort.

Toumpas was good all day and his kicking is top notch, hits a target or kicks to players advantage every time. He was a little quite in last 10mins but he is still young so presume he just ran out of legs.

It was like Rodan was not there in first half but really stepped up in the 2nd half to be one of the better players.

I was surprised to read here that Magner had so many touches, he was good in and under and was a good contributor all day.

Couch was good all game

I went along today also.

Fitzpatrick really impressed me, he took about 5 really strong pack contested marks. He was great

Dawes seemed to be out of position alot of the time. He also dropped a few contested marks that Fitz took.He did enough to come into the side next week.

Dawes and Fitzpatrick will both come in next week 100% barring injurys to them during the week.

Did any one see in the last qtr Davey turn to the Port supporters and gave them the keep talking sign after his goal.

I liked his game also he also suprised me going inside the packs which I liked.

Toumpas kicking is elite wow.

So is Dawes a walk up start for next sunday? Does he look match fit?

For mine yes, easily gets a game next week. Lead strongly all day, sometimes with less than stellar service, particularly up the scoreboard end where we

tended to kick too deep into the outer pocket rather than kick into the goalface against the breeze. He cluncked plenty of strong marks, and was usually pretty

quick with his recovery if he didnt win it. Without Clark we need a genuine leading marking forward, we cant rely on a resting ruckman to kick us goals.

Thought Davey was good in the first half, quieter in the second. Suspect he would have had a lot closer to 20 possessions than 10.

Fitzy was good to very good, it was the move of him into the ruck in the last quarter that stemmed the early onslaught.

Taggert I really like, think he will be pushing for selection in the next month if he can keep it up. Would happily give him a run against the Suns myself, but suspect he'll need to show a bit more to get a call up.

Dawes, liked his game overall, a near certainty for the Suns, a game I would also play Toumpas in.

Gillies, didn't think much of his first half, Sellar did some good things but needs to do more, likewise Davis - if only he was a better kick!

Blease, really liked but am a fan of Sam, just needs to keep up his intensity and concentration for 4 quarters.

Rodan had a good second half after having little impact.

Clisby had a couple of horror kick outs but otherwise did well.

Manger, who I'd have before Couch, did well, look forward till he can play seniors as we could do with him in and under helping out Chunky.

Was good to see so many of the senior team there supporting their mates.

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, pity about the result but the song was some consolation!

To be honest, I think Spencer, Gawn and Fitzy all have great upside. I'd be keeping them all.

Seems Toumpas has a great backside.

Tynan: solid, tough, has a crack but didnt get heaps of it. Groomed as a back pocket it seems.

Taggert: ripping body for a footballer, could go toe to toe with Col I reckon. Plays half forward, we really need him to become a dominant on baller in VFL then go from there. Something to build on for next week.

Why do we always play potential midfielders in other positions. We desperatly need midfielders - I know Taggert was drafted as a mid why not just develop them as mids.

Kent and Toumpas were also played upforward - it's fine if they are resting but we need to develop some good midfielders now!

I hope Kent plays some time in the mid tomorrow.

Anyone know why Joel MacDonald wasnt picked in the side this week? Mystery injury?

Almost forgot he was on our list - another wasted spot on the list (could have had Magner or kept Gysberts or Moloney)

It was more that he looked betwixt and between and looked completely flummoxed as to what to do.

Port were super disciplined. Great comeback from them.

Your first post about him for the day showed your bias and true colours thanks for the updates though, but FFS try and cheer yourself up a bit, you come across like your avatar fookin miserable

i certainly wouldn't have had rodan in the best either. where's magner? couch? blease - his third quarter was outstanding with his run and create, and his defensive attitude too - would be ahead of sellar for mine too.

luke tynan might be one worth looking at putting on the rookie list for 2014 to help add some depth to our squad. he was very impressive i thought.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
