Stuie, we are struggling to win a quarter, let alone a game.

You'll excuse us if we aren't jumping for joy that a repeat offender, a perennial under performer, and an all round known idiot, has been seen [censored] out of his mind after a match*

Should we sack him? No.

Should we punish him? Yes.

Would our club be annoyed at this? Yes

Should you? Probably, but too busy searching for gifs online I suppose.

*still no confirmation, so lets hope it is not true or has been blown out of proportion on the internet

That's the part I'm talking about. Didn't anyone learn their lesson from the whole Boxing Day Test fiasco?!

Oh, and just for you...

I heard from a reliable source who was there and this is apparently how it went down guys....

Frawley was boasting big time that he had a beard and Col didn't ...this was in front of a few lasses they were chatting to at the time. Sylvia responded "you can keep your beard Chip.....nobody can match my smooth looks on the field or the dance floor mate!!". Chip then stated that he could take anyone on the dance floor anytime including Col "smooth as" Sylvia!! Some bloke called 'Rick' happened to be near them and overheard Chip boasting and challenged Chip to a dance off!

Chip foolishly accepted, Col tried to stop Chip from embarrassing himself and this is where a little push and shove occured between the two of them but nothing too serious.

This was caught by a patron on a smart phone and posted on you tube this morning! Check it out guys!!! ........

Grow up.

If the facts that are outlined are true then its Colin Sylvia who has to grow up. I don't mind a player having a few beers after a game but if you are drinking to the point where a team mate has to pull you up and tell you its time to go home and you are so schnickered you react physically then you've had way more than a few beers and you are kidding if you call yourself an elite athlete.

If facts are essentially as above then Colin Sylvia will presumably be playing for Casey for a few weeks. Sylvia is 27 years old and in his 10th AFL season. The words its later than he thinks come to mind.

You mean the RUMOUR from BigFooty.... Not much credibility there. Everyone needs to calm down a bit and remember the reactions around the Boxing Day debacle.

Calling for him to be delisted is completely dumb.

So two blokes out on the [censored] have a bit of a shove. Yeah, that would be the first time mates have ever done that before. Gosh, people, relax! Yes, we are playing crap football but, surprisingly, it's not because they are having a drink after the game.

Do you reckon the Swans players would drink during the season?

Do you know for a fact that this altercation even took place at all?

...they are simply not committed to AFL level performance.

I don't want to shock you but I think we might have a couple of blokes down our club that fit that description.

Posted

We wouldn't know if some swans players drink during the season because it is a non story. No one gives a sh!t. Who doesn't get into a push and shove with their mates after a few? For those who have their heads up their rectum it happens all the time and it is no drama.

You don't deserve that, it is none of your business. So what a player gets drunk, big deal as long as he meets all his rehab and training commitments today and this week no issue.

Lmao you don't get sh*tfaced as a professional AFL player. It sets you back in terms of recovery, overall fitness & mental application. These blokes should be watching everything they put into their bodies, barely have a drop of grog during the season & some of them are out getting pis*ed. Explains a fair bit about why we are so shite on field.

Sad really. Both are very talented footballers and should be on there prime.

Haha agreed - Good to see our senior players leading the way!!

In all seriousness this pretty much highlights 'Our' culture - turning up is good enough for some of these blokes.....

Good luck Neeldy - true professionals through and through

We have no culture - that is our big ongoing problem, and has been since mid 1965.

Just staggering that these blokes have no professional pride.I'd be embarrassed to be even out in public,.let alone drawing attention to yourself. What the hell is happening at the MFC.It seems the lunatics are still in charge of the asylum.

The MFC and its Players should be doing everything in there powers to improve this is why we r so far back from the rest. Not professinal.

I highly dought it but even if the Swsns players had the odd drink mid season id say they earnd it...we not even close

Seriously. If true let's consider the facts and make a judgement.

Both players should be dropped for at least the next match.

Whilst this is disappointing to hear, some of the reactions in this thread are almost comical.

This sort of thing would happen within every club, in a variety of settings inside and outside the club. With the pressure they must be feeling at the moment, it shouldn't come as any great surprise. Plus keep in mind, these guys aren't just people who play together, alot of them are mates. Mates tend to have this happen at least once or twice.

Seriously, we have far greater concerns at the moment than worrying about a supposed push and shove after a few drinks, the background to which we are speculating upon.

Based on what, a rumour on a couple of forums (which probably emanated from the same single source - some one has even extrapolated two reports to mean "multiple people reporting it")?

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
