Can somebody please tell me why Toumpas is playing? The kid is not ready and needs to develop his game at Casey. Neeld is going to [censored] his career if they don't drop him!!

Yeah.. The only good thing he can do is kick, he just doesn't work hard enough to get a kick.

Not ready for AFL football, but I've never seen anything to suggest he will be a gun player.

I know I know it's early days but man Oliver wines would have been great and I for one was keen to get him.

Have said this multiple times this season from round one - only to be attacked.

It is clear he is not ready for AFL - He needs to be at Casey where he can learn to back himself and find his inner aggression.

The pace of AFL is just to quick for him we saw it with players like Watts and Morton

Everyone needs to lay off Toumpas. He clearly isn't ready for AFL and needs more time in the VFL. There is not a single point in labeling him as a spud. I've had it! Just bide your time and quit being so pessimistic. Its not like he's the very first person ever to play his first year of footy and look a overwhelmed by the big league. Take a chill pill.

He will be a gun. But i think that playing him now will do more damage than good - give him some time and confidence in the seconds.

Waddles.

Its a worry isnt it.

Ok let's calm down with the big calls regarding a player 3 games in playing for the worst team on earth. Very harsh and stupid.

However I agree that he should not be playing. I feel sorry for him actually. He is not ready and he needs to get a feel for AFL footy at Casey (it's the same level of talent when it comes to Melbourne anyway).

We are destroying his confidence. He looks really shattered. It's not fair to him.

Being crucified, just like Wattsy was.

Put him in the twos and make him bang down the door.

Agree with Jaded. This kid is obviously not quite ready and trying to come in and make it happen in our current situation is obviously going to be tough for an 18 year old (unless you are Jack Viney).

He should play at Casey until at least the second half of the season and hopefully he will be dominating games at that level by then.

Far from ready. Another poor decision by coach and selection committee. Rodan (premiership player with an AFL bod & massive experience) versus an underdone inexperienced Toumpas? Nah, lets choose Toumpas haha. Wouldnt have made that much of a difference to the result but even a few extra possessions going our way and maybe a goal here or there helps.

Probably too early for Kent as well but i'd choose him over Toumpas at this point if there weren't many experienced alternatives on the selection table (& unfortunately there isn't). Sure know how to ruin a young blokes confidence at this club. Well done Neeld & crew.

On certain things, I'm fed up. One thing I am fed up with is how the MFC destroys young football careers. These blokes should have realized what happened to Jack Watts. Jimmy will come out of here hating football.

As much as I love his energy a few months at casey will be really good for him.

I'd give Kent a crack next week against the giants.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
