Mitch was our only reliable big man out there today.

Jamar and Sellars for that matter are not worthy of an AFL game right now.

Let us hope that Dawes will add something to that glaring inadequacy.

I have completely forgotten Dawes. Must be sitting there thinking what the fark was I thinking.

Right now, with Gillies, Sellar and Jamar we have three of the least effective players in the comp generally running around in the 1s (Gillies aside for this week). The sooner we don't need guys like this the better it will be for all of us

Agree with the sentiment here. It's wrong to just say 'look at the hit outs'; many of them were straight to WC players or into the ground, rather than to our advantage.

And don't even get me started on his 'influence' around the ground. Some contests he just rucks, then stands there waiting to see what happens.

He can't kick, he doesn't kick, he can't mark, he doesn't mark.

I'm done.

he is by far the worst afl player to ever play 100 games!

There's a fair bit of competition for that.

Matthew Bate, for one.

Lynden Dunn, for another.

I thought he did well at the center bounces... Better than the last few weeks

I thought his centre bounce work was great. But apart from that he was truly hopeless. Why can't he pick up the ball off the ground when there is no pressure? Has to be Casey-bound now that Gawn is ready to go.

He contested the hit outs but that is all. Once he's "gone up" for the tap he's as much of a spectator as I am.

Jamar is pathetic ruckman now, he is done and dusted as an AFL player.

So is Davey.

Agree on Jamar, but Davey's been surprisingly good in his two games this year. We just need to expect a lot less of him these days.

I think Davey has played his role in both games so far.

Jamar is one of the more extraordinary case studies in sports history. He's played one good year in a career stretching 11.

He needs to be on the motivational speaking circuit.

He and Royal are the big issues with the Melbourne midfield. His work rate is atrocious. He doesn't get to contests. He's too slow. He offers nothing up forward. He taps generally straight to his feet. Rarely marks those kick ins on the back flank. He needs to go. Bring in Spencer. Gawn should be brought in once match fit. A hopeless decision to re-sign him for three years.

When Jamar handballed a shot at goal to another player who was under pressure, I couldn't even use use words. I just kind of roared loud and incoherently. Scared the hell out of my children. Thanks Mark Jamar.

You useless trash of a player this bloke does NOTHING around the ground! he is by far the worst afl player to ever play 100 games! get in spener or gawn atleast they show heart and work ethic!

Go and support another team mate, what have you ever done in your life?? Have you ever made the grade in Afl?

What gives you the right to call him trash.

Some people on these boards are nothing short of pathetic!

Right. All non-AFL players on this board must now stop commenting, as, according to Grimes is Great, none of us are able to form an opinion.

A fair selection of the media will be in trouble too.

I'm thinking a bit differently why not play jamar and gawn so at least our midfield gets first use at some time and drop pedersen. Forward pressure means little if the ball is there. If it doesn't work at least Gawn has had an easier return to afl and then can ruck alone the week after.

Certainly think Jamar was better in the ruck today but awful around the ground

It's about respect.

Obviously you have none.

Admittedly some of his taps happened to go to MFC mids today, but I think our expectations are so low of Jamar these days that today's performance would still be deemed hopeless by every other AFL club.

He needs to do himself a favour and retire. Stay on as our ruck coach but for god's sake put yourself out of our misery please!!!

Stay on as our ruck coach you must be kidding.

Please put yourself out of misery for suggesting that.

Show some respect mate, sure he's playing average but he did beat Cox in hitouts. He is a hundred game player for the Club that we love, give him a bit.

"Hitouts" is the most useless stat in the game. What good is winning a hit out if it doesn't go to our advantage? None.

He had one kick today which was ineffective. He has had ONE effective kick for the year. Get Spencer in of put Clark in the ruck, Jamar is not only poor he is actually a liability to the team.

If you don't like reality opinions on some of our so called senior players then beat it

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
