Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

What excuses?

I seriously just wanted to know what you were talking about because I just don't know sometimes. We should beat Port tomorrow out o a matter of course - it's a nothing game.

You want to see progress?

Beat a decent team, or even play well against a decent team.

Then it will be The Time ©, not beating a poor interstate team.

sure i would love to beat a decent side away from the 'G.

But your attitude of not caring about whether we beat a poor interstate club or not is one of the problems this club has had for years.

We pick & choose when to perform.

Glad you bought it up....

I want to see them take a leaf out of the Dogs' book. Take note, this is how you're meant to play Brisbane in Round 1. EFFORT.

i am rapt Footscray are doing this.

I hope the Coach is giving it a look, and some of the players.

Port should get SMASHED tomorrow.....should.

I don't know why I bother...

We should win this game. There is no progress from a win, there is only embarrassment from a loss.

Your intimation that this game will be a coming of age of sorts is misguided and naive.

'Its Time'?

Not yet.

I have to completely disagree with this comment. There's plenty of progress from a win. Every win gives the team the memory of that feeling and the desire to have it more often. Every win creates a bond with the players in that they look at each other and know they went out there and together got the result. I don't think this game will make of break the players or the season, but there is infinitely more gained from a win, especially a hard fought win, than a loss.

Stop picking and choosing which games are "worth" winning.

It is a terrible and destructive attitude this club has clung to for way too long.

"I don't know why I bother..."

Neither do i.

I want to see Viney take the ball out of the first centre bounce, run and and spread the ball to a running Toumpas who will hand-pass over the top to Clark in the goal square. Goal - 23 seconds.

I want to see Watts kick in from a rushed behind and find a running Matt Jones who takes on his opposition player and turns him inside out whilst giving off a hand-pass to Sam Blease who is shepherded beautifully by David Rodan allowing him to run down the members wing to deliver to Sellar on 50. Sellar puts a high ball to the goal square where Howe soars to drag down a contender for GOTY. Goal - 2 mins 30.

ETC

ETC

ETC

Go Dees!

I just want to see them get a kick , before the opposition lands ten tackles... You blokes are now running on your own adrenalin... Let's just let them show us they can come out of "Shame corner" and play four quarters of football , win or lose, just give all they have and come off the ground totally exhausted... NOT walk off talking and smiling with the bloody opposition !! "[censored]" stuff to my way of thinking...

Jack Watts KO Michael Hurley.

Its sort of pathetic that the idea of Watts running through someone, delivering a strong hit or even trying to rile someone up is laughable.

Supremely skilled and athletic but no attitude.

He HAS an attitude.....it may go something like this ....." [censored], this is harder than schoolboy footy when I used to be able to display my skill and athletic... But now I am playing against men I think I will just be glad I get through the day without having to go near the ball... At least I will still get paid".... This is how I see his attitude.... Forgive me if I upset anyone, but I callit as I SEE IT !!

It is frustrating as I see a superstar inside him, he just needs an attitude change. Anyway, there are enough Jack Watts threads, apologies all.

It starts in the head. Sylvia is from Bendigo, which has a reputation for producing tough, uncompromising players, what happened with him? Jack Watts needs to be moved into the forward line and receive some tutoring from Mitch Clark on how to attack the ball. We need to only play midfielders like Jack Viney, Trengove and Magner who are willing to attack the ball and the game and who are prepared to chase and tackle. Our back line needs Grimes, McDonald and any other player that is prepared to work their guts out to keep the opposition scoreless. Colin Garland, James Frawley and Daniel Nicholson need to be sent back to the VFL to learn how to gain intensity and in Nicholson and Garland's case to improve their woeful kicking. Every player needs to be prepared to defend his playing mates when any physical intimidation is applied and it should be answered with strength and unity to show that the Melbourne FC stand for something. Every player should aim to be as feared as Byron Pickett was when they take to the oval on match day.

Dont take this the wrong way or as me being another Dees fan who accepts mediocrity. I know we are on a long road to where we wish to be.

While I would happily take a win, all I really want to see is effort, run followed by gut running, intensity, support your team mate and no shirking of any contests, everything looks after itself after that.

This is what I expect from my team for the next 21 games

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
