I like the analogy. I also think that the Bombers appeared really charged up once they got going and they might not be in the same mood for their next game.

I'm still taking things one game at a time but if we get over Port next week this could be a really big game for the club with the faithful of both sides turning up. Pity it's an Essendon "home" game which means we'll probably have to wear the predominantly white "away" strip (even though the Bombers weren't made to do that last night against the Crows).

Anyway, I hope we continue our recent winning form against them.

I think you need to re-think some things...

Hang on - meaningless does not mean unenjoyable. The games that do not involve Melbourne do not hold amy meaning for me. I enjoy watching footy - but most games have no impact on my life. Melbourne games do. Is that so hard to understand?

Well, shows what I know! Didn't see a minute of the game in the end, but was thrilled to see Adelaide in front early on. Couldn't believe Essendon peppiness to fight back the way they did. I heard the Watson was very good - carrying on from his great season last year - and Essendons smalls were too dangerous.

We'll need intensity at the contest, our midfield will have to lift and we'll need to stop their smalls from easy crumbing goals.

But by all means - you go ahead and enjoy them.

I suppose I was confused by this line, which certainly seems to imply that you don't enjoy games not involving Melbourne but we could.

Love this thread 45, I generally watch minimum 5-9 games per week, it'll get a good place to discuss other players, team tactics that interest us and maybe discuss teams we're coming up against in 1,2,3 weeks.

To those who say they can't enjoy watching footy if Melbourne isn't playing, play supercoach!

Used to watch most games per week, I'm lucky if I watch one non-MFC match per week now due mostly to availability (free to air vs paid, but collingwood collingwood collingwood vs non-collingwood also comes into it).

Don't know many opposition players bar the majors, don't care anymore. Hate fantasy/super/dream systems - they set you up to hope opposition players succeed and your players fail.. and hey, there's an actual real season going on..

Having said that, thoroughly enjoyed watching the game on friday even though the dons won.

Not that my opinion matters c&b, but I GAF and die a little inside each time we go out as sydney with some blue. Honestly would prefer the green irish style, something that is Melbourne, than advertising sydney every second week.

Well, it's probably clear that I should give up the predictions!

Strange how similar the two games have been. Both sides had 21-0 starts and were steamrolled from then on.

West Coast really missed Nic Nat. His combination with Cox is deadly, but without him that spark wasn't there. Lecras injured again is a shame for him - he's a good footballer to watch but just can't stay on the park (great news for us for Round 3, though!).

Actually, I couldn't give a stuff about the colour of the shorts C & B. It's the anaemic white "away" jumpers that annoy me a lot more.

I know it's a little thing to some but given that Essendon wore their home strip against Adelaide in an "away" game and not some white or gray atrocity demonstrates their strength as a club (whether drug induced or not ) to get away with these things while we meekly accept such things because we're told to do so.

If we have to change our jumpers IMO we are red & blue and the jumper should reflect this, go with a reverse of the current home jumper (red jumper blue yoke) or even use the 80's royal blue with a red yoke
