So what if we're being hounded by the media rottweilers who want to see us wither and die as a football club? Forget about our lowly position, the tanking enquiry and the fact that our VFL alignment is on the chopping block.

Here's the answer to all of our problems:

The lower the lows, the higher the highs. All great stories tell of hard times, and how hard the battle was to win. The MFC biography is just setting up the greatest story ever.

It's funny that whenever "Melbourne" appears in the media now, it's always preceded by an adjective like "hapless" or "embattled", or it's followed by "... who are under investigation for tanking ...". Even in stories where there's no relevance whatsoever!

I'm still whistling with pursed lips!

Maurie, that's because we're all "long suffering"!

Gave me a laugh for a change.

I spend 5 minutes waiting for something to load.

Then pi--ed myself

Oh well I might need to return to the note book and pencil.

What's funnier is that both papers today have the "secret dossier" prepared by the Australian Cricket team for the series against South Africa.

Such a sceret that every hack has a copy!

The 'Hun have even called it an "explosive development" on the eve of the first test. Not sure whether receiving a copy of said dossier from the ACB's media manager qualifies as an "explosive development", but hey ..

Oh well old dee. You can still take a lead from the song and look on the bright side because, they might be taking away the notebook and the pencil but they're letting you keep the straight jacket!

Here's one from the bright side who won't allow us to wither on the vine -

Blood doesn't seem to bother him. In fact he seems to welcome it.

Signs point to yes, we have an undead creature on our list.

Here's one specifically for you old dee. Probably about our vintage and the artist has obvious links to the MFC.

Two connections actually.

The first is the connection between Judy and Colin Garland (fourth cousins twice removed and replaced once on the interchange bench).

The second was that she appeared in a concert in Melbourne p1zzed to the eyeballs and she was heckled off the stage. Three months later Melbourne won the 1964 Grand Final.

I noted on another thread that maybe he was a ghost superhero because on the MFC player site he has no weight & no height.

But I like your theory.

Can you tell a vampires weight & height ?

This could be a new exclusive for CW. "Are vampires allowed to play under the AFL rules?"

and sadly Ms. Garland moved on to the real cabin in the sky in 1969...and we went on to win another wooden spoon.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
